Instructors 8

Fraser Williams

Fraser Williams has been practicing and teaching yoga and meditation since 2002. He managed yoga schools all across the world and has studied with many great yoga teachers. Fraser is a trained Ayurvedic massage therapist and a specialist in the renovation of old buildings.

Jan Tomas

Jan’s journey on the yoga path began in 2003 with doing daily Hatha yoga on his own. Within the next four years, he studied more than 700 hours of courses and training in yoga-related subjects and practices. Since the year 2009, Jan participated in a number of Buddhist Vipassana courses from the Satipatthana tradition. For over five years, Jan’s main spiritual practice has been dedicated to Tantra and Kundalini under the guidance of Sri Guruji Rajkumar Baswar.

Martin Pack

Martin has been meditating for more than 30 years. 14 years ago, he came across this particular form of Vipassana meditation and it was a life-changing experience. He subsequently spent years practicing in Northern Thailand often going straight from one retreat into another. Soon, he was asked to assist in leading retreats by revered teacher Thanat in Chom Thong in Thailand and Phra Ofer in Israel under the authority of the venerable Ajarn Tong Sirimangalo coming from the Mahasi lineage.

Elly Eisenbeutl

When she was in her late teens, Elly Eisenbeutl started her spiritual work by training in massage and healing. Her first teacher training in yoga was with the Sivananda School in Kerala, India in 2003. From 2012, she has been living at the Alpen Retreat and is able to share in many ways of the rich and varied influences that have led her on her spiritual journey. The most fulfilling work for her is through teaching yoga, giving massage or healing, and helping to lead Bhajan (devotional singing) circles.

Wolfgang Eisenbeutl

Wolfgang was first exposed to the yoga tradition at the age of 17 as he traveled in 2001, with Jan Tomas, the co-founder of the Alpen Retreat. This has greatly expanded his horizons, though it was not yet the time to start with the practice of yoga and spirituality. Spiritual singing and music is one of his great passions and is a major influence in his teachings as well as his personal experiences in various traditions such as Kriya yoga, Hatha yoga, Tantra yoga, Hridaya yoga, Buddhist meditation, psycho-spiritual work, and shamanism.

Beatrice Williams

Beatrice Williams was raised in the outstanding beauty of the Austrian Alps. From a young age, she had an intuitive sense of a deeper essence of life, in response to this, she explored different esoteric traditions through research and reading books until in 1999 she found yoga. She continued her studies in Hatha and Kundalini yoga for over four years and later received various initiations and practices from lineages such as Kriya yoga, SadGuru, Prem Baba, and the Tantric practices from Guruji Raj Kumar Baswar.

Daniela Haridev Kaur

Jan Tomas

Jan Tomas, a qualified IT specialist and trained ski- and snowboard instructor, discovered due to injuries in extreme sports the vast spectrum of yoga and meditation in summer 2005. Since then, he is constantly growing in his daily practice. Through the many years of intense practice and many retreats in ashrams and monasteries around the world, he dove deeper and deeper into the world of meditation and yoga and gained a profound understanding about body, mind, psyche, and self-reflection. Since spring 2009 he started doing courses and since then inspires like-minded people.

"Vipassana, life changing experience"

Was it easy? No, but changes never are. But it was not as hard as I was expecting. The difficult hours all passed and I was happy that I was able to release some energy with the walking meditation. I loved the location, the ambience and the energy of the staff, they were very supporting. I loved the reports with Martin, his sense of humor made it possible for me to excel myself and keep going. It is worth repeating.

We had a fantastic stay in the AlpenRetraet recently and really enjoyed our time. All people there were sooo lovely. We booked for 4 Nights and enjoyed our great time with the lovely located rooms in the middle of beautiful mountains and forest. The view was fantastic when you wake up in the morning and look outside of your room. The food was great and organic and cooked fresh every day. Many thanks to Beatrice, Wolfgang, Jan and all the others. We will definitely come back in Summer or Winter. In Winter time the beautiful surrounding invites you for great skiing experience. The organization was fantastic and you should definitely book your stay in combination with the great Yoga offerings. The yoga room has a quit and relaxing atmosphere and a great view as well.

Very well located on the way between Bavaria and Tyrol, close to the road for easy access but very calm, surrounded by amazing nature (mountains, river, forest, lake). Beautiful guest house, 500 years old, well renovated. Tasty home-cooked vegetarian food and herbal tea from the garden. Generous breakfast. Friendly and welcoming host community. Atmosphere influenced by yoga and well-being. House serving both for yoga retreats and bnb.

I just came from a 2 week retreat and I can't stop thinking how great this experience was. The place is very cosy and it's surroundings are amazing. The mountains, the waterfall, the autumn colors... Also, the team is wonderful. Warm hearted people, kind, always with a smile for you and excellent cuisine chefs :) I do highly recommend this place and their retreats

The Alpine Retreat is a wonderful place to get away and reconnect with nature, friends, or just yourself. Marie, our hostess, was wonderfully friendly, welcoming, and offered lots of suggestions for things we could do in the area. We went showshoeing, tobogganing, and hiking. If you are able to share a dinner from the kitchen - do it! The vegetarian food is awesome -- perfect healthy and hearty food to wrap up a day of outdoor activity. The rooms are tidy and decorated with a surprisingly fluid mix of old Tirol and Eastern styles. The faint aroma of incense freshens the hallways, and a large open yoga and meditation room (which was always open for use!) encourages utter relaxation. The retreat is kind of out of the way, but that's really what makes it so great-- amazing views of the mountains and hiking opportunities right outside. Stay here. You won't be disappointed.

I just stayed at AlpenRetreat for a long weekend and was surprised with such a relaxing and inspiring time, that it felt like an entire holiday – far away from everyday life. Everyone was authentically warm and comforting. People from the retreat, not only shared their truly lovely place, but also stories from their lives. Everything far far succeeded my expectations. A spontaneous snow board lesson in puffy powdery snow, an intro to meditation, the opportunity to practice yoga, cuddling up to the old fashioned tile oven (Kachelofen), meaningful conversations over food prepared with love and creativity... what more can you possibly wish for? Thank you so much! I will find some time to return, for sure.
