The Quinta is located 1-hour drive from Porto. The property is surrounded by stunning nature; wine-growing fields, forests, rivers, farms. The house is surrounded by a large garden with fruit trees, a swimming pool overlooking the breathtaking landscape. On top of the hill, there is access to the forest.

Workshops

Mastermind (collectively brainstorming advice for personal/professional struggles)

Every participant presents a personal/professional problem or situation they are facing and can’t find a solution/reason. The group brainstorms on giving practical and personal advice. Mastermind always results in fresh perspectives and solutions from combined knowledge from different life experiences and professional backgrounds.

Movement Lab (outdoor free flow dance class)

Moving through different games, movement exercises, and improvisational dances. Gaining flexibility and strength. Awakening numb spots, researching on possibilities, exploring diverse qualities, contact-dance, freedom of self-expression.

Work purpose workshop

A skill-sharing session where you find alternative professional routes/ carrier patterns and fresh ideas for each participant.

Training empathy (sharing session)

In order to connect with people, you need to be able to understand their perspectives, emotions, and motivations on a deeper level. Training empathy taps into understanding the basic needs of humans to cultivate unconditional love and compassion through practical exercises.

Deep connection workshop

Exercises such as eye gazing with the aim of deepening the connection within the group that opens up to the whole experience. The session is also part of mindset training as you first dig deeper into where emotions surface and how unconditional love influences your lives.

Ecstatic dance

Music relaxes our muscles which allows us to free ourselves of the tensions. Shake, jump, scream, connect to your inner animal, bounce, and laugh. Let yourself move freely, with no structure, choreography. Let it out!

Location

North of Portugal is famous because of its beautiful forests, hilly landscapes, and mountains. It is the greenest part of Portugal. The retreat is held in the Douro river valley area, which is filled with vineyards and farms. The whole neighborhood is famous for its wines, organic food, and local village life. The accommodation is located in the forest area on top of the hill, which allows you to catch stunning views from every corner of the Quinta.

Food

The Borderless Retreat team is carefully preparing a nourishing menu for the whole retreat beforehand. There are three vegan/vegetarian meals a day included: breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Meals will be served buffet-style from a communal table.

A typical breakfast includes fresh local fruits and vegetables, granola, honey, eggs, and bread. Lunch will be mostly served in a bowl with different types of groats, salads, cooked and raw vegetables, and hummus. For dinner expect curries, vegetarian stews, baked vegetables, pasta, and rice. There will be unlimited strong coffee, herbal tea, and spring water available.

How to get there

Recommended Airports

Arrival by airplane

Please book your flight to arrive at Francisco de Sá Carneiro Airport (OPO) or Lisbon Portela Airport (LIS). Transfer from and to the airport is not included. Borderless Retreat can provide the contact for the airport transfer company if needed. There is a possibility of using public transportation to get to the accommodation.

Arrival by bus

There are buses running from Porto to Castelo de Paiva (1-hour drive, around 4 EUR for a ticket). Borderless Retreat can arrange the pick up from the village to the accommodation (around 10 minutes with no additional costs needed).

Cancellation Policy

  • A reservation requires a deposit of 50% of the total price.
  • The deposit is non-refundable, if the booking is cancelled.
  • The rest of the payment should be paid on arrival.
