Yoga
The Chillout Retreats team will teach traditional Hatha yoga infused with the fluid Vinyasa flow, which is strong, powerful, and rejuvenating, and covers many of the well known and popular asanas. Yoga teaches you how to relax and restore the own power within your bodies whilst stilling the mind at the same time. You can expect to work strongly and dynamically in the mornings and smoothly, developing a deep sense of calmness in the evening classes.
Pilates
On this retreat, Chillout Retreats will also be offering a Pilates inspired core strength class which is developed to strengthen your inner core and build up strength from within. Pilates is a wonderful compliment to yoga and is a useful practice to help any lower back problems or spine sensitivities. The lessons are suitable for any ability and will raise your heartbeat and strengthen you from your very core.
Meditation
By quieting the chattering mind and developing loving kindness, you can really be open to experience what is going on in the present. How much time do you spend thinking about the past or the future without actually living and breathing each precious moment now? After all, you cannot change the past nor predict the future but you can shape your present.
Meditation is now well regarded as a life skill. As you use yoga or Pilates to strengthen and exercise your body, you can use meditation to strengthen and gain control of your brain and mind as it too is a muscle. It is a tool that can help aid concentration, sharpen the senses, and inspire minds. The beauty of even the smallest thing can be appreciated after only a few meditation sessions.
During these chill out retreats, you will learn different meditation techniques and practices that can be used every day, such as the mindfulness of breathing, the Metta Bhavana, and walking meditations. Once you have learned how to calm the mind, you can meditate anywhere, in the bath, on the tube, or whilst out walking. Even the most active minds need a rest and without too much effort, so much can be achieved.
Walking
The West Sussex and Devon retreats offer more countryside and nature trail appeal with gentle walks through the downs and across to lakes in West Susex, or to the Jurrassic coastline in Devon. Walking can help you to feel more open and expansive and this can create the perfectly invigorating exercise, a wonderful complement to the yoga and PIlates sessions.
