What you will appreciate during the program :

  • A supporting and structuring framework to concretely experience the virtues of mindfulness meditation by integrating it step by step into your daily life
  • A small group of maximum 12 people to share and exchange the practices
  • Additional resources to go further : paper and digital booklet, audio supports (guided meditations to practice between workshops), bibliographic advice, etc.

Prerequisites for participants :

To join this retreat you will need a stable internet connection and access to Zoom.

Retreat organization :

Eight weekly meetings of two and a half hours and a day of silent practice to immerse yourself intensely in the practice.

Outside of the workshops, you will be invited to practice at home 30 to 40 minutes daily in order to integrate mindfulness into your daily life.

Course information :

How does an MBSR program work ?

  • Guided formal meditation exercises (reclining, sitting, walking, yoga-inspired movements, etc.)
  • Exchanges regulated in an atmosphere non-judgmental and caring in order to expend everyone's practices
  • Audio recordings are available to guide participants in their daily practice
  • Informal meditation exercises are suggested, to be integrated into daily life

An online MBSR program ?

The content of the program is identical, whether it is offered in person or online.

Both face-to-face and remote, an educational booklet as well as audio recordings of the exercises performed are given to participants.

Only the terms differ. The online edition is offered via Zoom (in its secure version) : the sessions are then recorded and made available to the participants. And the number of participants is intentionally limited.

Recent studies demonstrate the many benefits of the online practice of mindfulness meditation, in particular in terms of reducing psychological distress, anxiety and stress. These online practices would also help improve well-being and quality of life.

Of course, faced with the innovative nature of this device, your minds and hearts react and wonder, between enthusiasm (“it's easier to put in place in my schedule…!”), Curiosity (“maybe explore is there anything else that way? "), worry (" is it possible to cultivate presence in this context? "), or stress (" how am I going to organize myself so as not to be disturbed at home? ”). You are also often jaded by other types of online experiences, where the object is not necessarily a quality of presence to oneself and to the other. However, it seems that the richness and the benefits of the practice and the teachings are in no way altered, and are rather enriched.

What is mindfulness ?

Mindfulness is a natural ability that is to focus your attention on the present moment, and welcome, with curiosity and without judgment, all thoughts, feelings and emotions that arise. This aptitude is cultivated in particular through meditation : “Meditating is neither more nor less than being a witness to what is happening within us! ". The most recent scientific studies show that the practice of meditation, which is akin to a form of mental training, helps to modify the activity of the brain and transform its structure.

Practicing mindfulness allows you to better regulate stress and emotions, improve your quality of concentration, and cultivate hindsight and detachment for better decisions.

Mindfulness and MBSR

MBSR (Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction), is the name given by Professor Jon Kabat -Zinn to the program he has now been offering since 1979 within the CFM (Center for Mindfulness in Medicine , Health Care, and Society) in the United States. Inspired by ancestral practices of Zen meditation and yoga, it is an educational training process that consists of 8 successive weekly workshops, between which participants practice the exercises proposed to appropriate them step by step and integrate them gradually. in their daily lives.
