Join Dragonfly Chi Kung for Easter. Nine relaxing days at their unique mountain retreat, meditate, detox, and practice Chi Kung (Qigong). During this pandemic, you owe it to yourself time to relax, detox, and breathe. Feel the presence of Mother Earth below your feet, feel her warmth, feel her Chi, fill your Tan Tien and circulate your meridians, feel the essence of the earth, her consciousness. Tap into your inner self and experience your true potential. Learn and practice several types of Qigong and meditation. Above all, relax and enjoy.
You will be staying in a recently renovated farmhouse. You’ll enjoy the beautiful mountain views. There are gardens and fruit orchards with secluded hideaways for personal meditation. The house also comes with a dining and community room with a log burning stove for those chilly nights. There are two room types available: a private room for one person and a double room with a double bed suitable for a couple. All rooms share a spacious bathroom.
Chi Kung, also known as Qigong, is an ancient system of exercise, which has been widely practiced in China and throughout Asia for thousands of years. Because of its ease and incredible effectiveness, it is becoming clear that Chi Kung is the perfect cure and answer to the western problems of stress, exhaustion, constant sickness, and feelings of hopelessness.
Within Chi Kung, you can find your true self, be healthy, happy, relaxed, and confident. There are many different systems of Chi Kung, some practiced with the body still and some moving to various forms and movements. Various forms of traditional Chi Kung in China are related to health and the spiritual currents of China such as Taoism, Buddhism, and Confucianism. Learn and practice Chi Kung/Qigong. Dragonfly Chi Kung teaches and practices several types of Qigong/Chi Kung, including:
Anyone can practice it successfully, regardless of age or fitness. The essential requirements are a properly trained instructor and good, fresh air. In addition to the Chi Kung forms, you’ll also learn:
Immerse yourself in nature. Meditate under the trees. Every breath you take, every move you make, this is the essence of Qigong. The route of the mills takes you through the breathtaking countryside of Bimenes. Crossing the river and walking for a few minutes, you will find the first mills: El Molín de Matilde, El Molín de Barrial, Flora, Ferreru, or Máxima. On the horizon and among the abundant vegetation, you glimpse the imposing peaks of the Sierra de Peñamayor.
After a few kilometers of travel and close to the finish line, you will find the Molín de Milio or Fermina, which has been perfectly restored and conditioned to publicize the instruments and mechanisms used in the Asturian milling tradition. You find there a table with a bench so you can rest and replenish strength. It is at this point that the route intersects with that of the Peña del Hombre. You continue on the way, upstream, and you arrive at the last mill of the route, the Molín de Honorio, where a path on the left takes you to the village of Melendreros, end of the route. The return home will take place on the same path.
Asturias is famous for its cider and there is an abundance of cider apple trees all over the region. The retreat itself is host to more than 30 trees. The Cider Museum is a tribute to the culture of cider. The fundamental challenge taken up by the facility is that of visitor participation. Via an enveloping display system, it seeks to transmit all the information possible regarding cider-making and the consumption and history of cider, taking into account all aspects and the social and cultural setting of this drink. Topics such as the cider tavern, traditional games, musical instruments like the bagpipes, and so on play a leading role in this facility.
Steve originally came across Chi Kung whilst seeking relief from Chinese medicine for an injured back. Chi Kung has not only relieved the problem but also totally changed his life. After exhausting an extensive library and studying under several Masters, plus studying at the Nam Yang Retreat in Thailand, he was ready to share this accumulated knowledge. He has been teaching Chi Kung/Qigong and meditation for over a decade. Dragonfly Chi Kung was established in 2013.
Corlie is an assistant instructor at Dragonfly Chi Kung.
During this retreat, you will be served daily meals. Dragonfly Chi Kung food is mainly home-grown organic vegetarian, usually with an Asian influence. Any special requirements can be catered for and should be requested prior to arrival.
