Immersed in the magical and creative power of nature, you will explore unique stories through aesthetic techniques, movement, storytelling, and lots of writing. Whether you are writing copy for your website, short stories, an autobiography, or a children’s book; you will take home ideas and techniques to help you complete and sustain your creative aspirations. Accommodation

Edgewalkers will not decide on the accommodation until there is an idea of the number of people who will be participating in the retreat. It is usually twin-share, but generally a few people get their own room. Edgewalkers gives the best room to the person who books first. Day 1

  • 16:30 Arrive and settle in
  • 17:30 Introductions - intentions
  • Speed free writing
  • 18:00 Dinner - delicious vegetarian meal
  • 19:00 What’s your story?
  • Exercises to stimulate memories and generate a personal theme for the weekend
  • Visualisation - going into the unknown
  • Writing exercise

Day 2

  • 07:00 - 08:30 yoga & breakfast
  • 09:00 Free writing exercise - with prompts
  • 10:00 - 14:00 Walk and lunch
  • 14:00 - 16:00 Free time
  • 16:00 - 18:30 Who's in your story? Elements of characterisation / others in your story
  • 18:30 Dinner - evening sharing and playing

Day 3

  • 07:00 - 08:30 Yoga and breakfast
  • 09:00 - 10:30 Free writing / free time
  • 10:30 - 12:00 Where does it all happen? Playing with metaphors - where does your story take place?
  • Establish a daily 15 minute practice that will sustain your creativity
  • 12:00 Lunch
  • 13:00 - 16:00 Walk and deep reflection
  • 16:00 Finishing circle

There will be two guided walks on the Cape to Cape and Boranup Forest.

Western Australia's southwest is a delightful combination of spectacular coastline and magnificent forests containing what is deemed a 'hotspot' of biodiversity and unique natural beauty - a perfect backdrop for taking time out, reconnecting with nature and accessing creative inspiration.

Walk through the majestic Karri trees of the Boranup Forest and enjoy the breathtaking views of the Indian Ocean along the iconic Cape to Cape track. Like many of the artists and writers from around the country and the world who have settled here, the intention is that the pristine environment, spaciousness, and light will fill you with a strong sense of the powerful and purposeful role of creativity in your life.

The package includes healthy vegetarian and vegan locally catered meals and snacks with tea, coffee, and mineral water available all day.
