I went to El Salvador in November 2014 for a retreat with Tyler in Villa del Olas. Booking was easy and you could choose from several different levels of fun. I went all in for surf, yoga, massage, and fun side trips including a hike and waterfall jump. Villa del Olas was beautiful and a great place to relax. The house was huge and with a beautiful ocean-side view to wake up to! There were hammocks poolside and up on the yoga deck. It was an easy hike down the coast to the saltwater pools. The surf down there was amazing. Tyler had an entire quiver of boards for us to use, and chose one appropriately for my level and the breaks we were surfing. I caught plenty of waves down there! And it was great to not have to get in and out of a wet-suit all the time. Lastly the food was absolutely delicious. The ceviche, the pupusas, the plantains, the papayas...and the snacks in the house were all healthy and amazing. Anyways I would definitely go again and I've already recommended this trip to other friends as well!

This trip is simply a must– whether for the beginner, a seasoned veteran, or the non-surfer. Tyler is an amazing guide/host/teacher/chaperon. The property, well located within a few miles of the prized Playa Sunzal (think perfect Malibu but with 20 guys out instead of 100), is in a charming and safe neighborhood with private security. The house itself is immaculate, has outstanding views and a private beach. When the swell drops off or the wind goes onshore, Tyler also had a number of other interesting activities planned for the group, including group yoga on the sun deck with an experienced instructor, visiting a pupeseria (a purveyor of El Salvador’s national dish), zip lining through the rain forest, touring a coffee plantation and hiking to a waterfall. This was definitely the trip of a lifetime!

I enjoyed a memorable surf trip to El Salvador in December. The surf breaks are plentiful and world class. There are wave shaves and sizes for every kind of surfer. The water is deliciously warm. Some of my most treasured memories are paddling out in bikini and rash guard in the pre-dawn light, watching the sunrise with feet dangling from the board while watching for a wave to catch. It’s such a treat to surf multiple surf sessions if you want and end the day with the sun setting as you squeeze in one more wave of the day. The amenities and service were fantastic. The food was fresh, plentiful and gourmet. The accommodations were modern and yet beautifully indigenous. The 24 hour sound of ocean from all levels of the casita rocked my soul. The camaraderie of our surf retreat attendees made for good fun and friendship. I got spoiled by the service in house and to and from surf locations: friendly, safe, seamless. My surf trip to El Salvador increased my skill and experience, a definite goal achieved.

This is a great place to go for the most consistent waves with power, small or large! The surf-yoga retreat is a nice place to hang with people that are seeking a good time and great waves. Everything is taken care of by Tyler and his staff - from good food to rides to different breaks by cool tour guides!

Hey all, just got back from an epic week in El Salvador! Tyler is an excellent host and surf/adventure guide. He kept us in the waves every day and still somehow still had the time and energy to take us places we never would have found on our own. We traveled around, met new people and truly experienced all that El Salvador has to offer. The house we stayed in was super clean, well-stocked and had air conditioned bedrooms (major plus). Located in a secure gated community the pool and ocean view simply puts this place over the top! My crew is all mid to late 40's so don't think this kind of trip is just for the kiddos. Tyler catered our experience to meet our needs. Hot tip, don't miss "mountain day" which includes hot springs, colonial towns and spectacular views of a coffee plantation from a top the zip line course. My group is still talking about that day. My recommendation is book a trip now before this place gets discovered. Right now it's still a secret.

My trip to El Salvador Retreats was amazing. I felt like a rock star on holiday. The villa and surrounding environment is absolutely beautiful. The yogi was patient and thorough (I am a relative beginner). I enjoyed several excursions: surfing, a zip-line tour, and a trip to a hot springs spa. The food at the villa and in the community is healthy and delicious (make sure to try the local papaya). There were kind, smiling faces everywhere I went. I plan to attend again, As soon as possible!
