Come away and rest awhile. The Franciscan Renewal Center offers a respite away from a busy world where prayer and contemplation are the only agenda of the day. In a serene, 25-acre setting, nestled between Mummy and Camelback mountains in greater Phoenix’s most scenic spot, all are welcome there to discover spiritual growth, healing, and transformation.
The Franciscan Renewal Center offers beautifully appointed guest rooms designed without phones or televisions in order to maximize time for quiet, peaceful reflection, and renewal. They offer 70 double-occupancy rooms, eight single-occupancy rooms, and four handicap-accessible rooms, first floor or second floor. All rooms feature private, en-suite baths.
The center has a pool, palm or mountain views, private bath, linens and towels, and individually controlled air-conditioner or heater. They also have a hair dryer or iron available upon request and a complimentary messaging service. The rooms for guests with special needs vary by request and availability.
Give yourself sacred time in a place of serenity to allow everyday stresses to drift away. A private retreat provides an opportunity to get away from the hectic daily life to seek solitude for rest, renewal, and prayer. There is no set schedule. It is up to you to use this time for prayer, rest, or whatever is needed to rest and renew. Choosing to include a spiritual direction session with your private time can enrich the experience.
Spiritual direction is available upon request during your private retreat to provide you with a path to follow while you are there. The spiritual directors include lay men and women, priests, and religious with experience and training in different styles of direction.
Spiritual direction is really not about being “directed.” Rather, it is very much about being encouraged to draw closer to God through conversation, listening, and prayer. You will talk about what is on your mind.
A spiritual director or companion is one who is present to the directee through deep listening and personal support. This creates a safe environment where you can openly and prayerfully explore where God’s spirit is leading.
It is encouraged to arrange spiritual direction at least two weeks before your stay. The fee ranges from 45 USD to 65 USD per visit.

Nourishment for wow, that is what Franciscan Renewal Center is aiming for the retreatants. Their executive chef and staff have outstanding training and extensive professional experience. Scrumptious, made-from-scratch meals are sure to keep guests alert, energized, and focused during your meeting or conference. Meals are served in buffet style, depending on the chef’s choice. Beverages are also included.
Other meal times and locations on campus may be arranged, and special dietary requirements can be accommodated by prior arrangement. An additional charge of 1 USD per person is added for groups requesting a vegetarian option be added to the buffet. Please let them know if anyone in your group has any food allergies.
