Come deepen your practice and have fun on this wonderful yoga holiday in Turkey. You will practice yoga twice a day under the guidance of highly experienced instructors with stunning views of Turquoise Coast as your background. You will be spending the nights at a small family run hotel overlooking the Mediterranean sea. Immerse yourself in the yoga space overlooking the mountains and valleys rolling down to the sea. Everything in this retreat is amazing!
The hotel offers 16 large, comfortable rooms furnished in a simple and traditional style. All rooms are fully air-conditioned and all are en-suite. Most rooms have balconies overlooking the sea while others look out onto the fruit and vegetable gardens below. Family rooms are also available and some single rooms may be provided at no extra cost.
The hotel is run by Firat Sevilmis (Fred) and members of their extended family who have many years of experience managing and working in hotels in Istanbul and Marmaris as well as at the nearby Yuva Eco Holiday Centre. Under new management since January 2009, many improvements have been made including the addition of air conditioning in all rooms, a new yoga platform and a therapy room.
There is a spacious swimming pool with numerous wooden loungers and umbrellas as well as a poolside bar for drinks and snacks during the day. With its stunning views and the long relaxing walk down to the sea (lifts often available), this hotel provides an affordable, tranquil haven in which to rest, relax, and enjoy the many benefits that this beautiful corner of Turkey has to offer.
Yoga with a view! You will practice yoga twice a day, overlooking the mountains and valleys rolling down to the sea. The views and yoga space are amazing. This new octagonal yoga platform was constructed during spring 2009 with views over the gardens to the sea beyond. Built from cedar and local pine, it can accommodate up to 30 people.
You can carry out your practice as the yoga space has a grass covering to provide plenty of shade to keep students cool and comfortable. The grass can be tied to one side for uninterrupted views! It is much nicer than it looks in the picture and it is actually the nicest yoga space Free Spirit Travel knows of in Turkey with large, airy, and great views.
Each retreat date will have a different teacher and theme. Please read under 'Instructors' section to know more about the teachers, their yoga styles, and what to expect in each week.
Louise Gillespie Smith
Louise' yoga journey began with Bikram which she enjoyed but it wasn't until she discovered Hot Power yoga (Vinyasa flow in a warm room) that she really understood what yoga was all about, it was a more spiritual, heart opening practice there. Since then, she has spent time living at the Sivananda Ashram in Kerala India learning their Hatha series and experiencing a full yogic life style. She has travelled around India extensively learning from different yoga teachers and she trained to teach Vinaysa flow yoga in the foothills of the Himalayas.
Jacqueline experienced her first yoga class in 1997 whilst at Drama school and has since trained in London (at Triyoga), India and Los Angeles, studying many styles of yoga including Vinyasa flow with Shiva Rea, Yin yoga and Mindfulness with Sarah Powers, Ashtanga with Pattabhi Jois, Restorative with Judith Lasater, yoga therapy with TKV Desikachar and Iyengar yoga. Her own style of teaching is fun, relaxed, safe and joyful, always relating to the bigger picture. She sees yoga as a wonderful tool to enhance every aspect of life and adapts her yoga classes to cater for all levels.

Daily breakfast and dinner are included in the price. This hotel is run by a family of enthusiastic gardeners and the spare ground in the hotel often has vegetables and fruit growing alongside the many flowers. There is also a purpose built organic fruit and vegetable garden which provides the kitchen with a steady supply of delicious fresh produce all year round. Food, as you would expect, is delicious. For yoga students, a vegetarian diet is provided. Meat or fish is also available.
A little further afield are the historic sites of Xanthos, Tlos, or Pinara with archaeological remains such as temples, amphitheaters, mosaics, and tombs from the Lycian, Greek, and Roman periods. Free Spirit Travel staff can help you arrange taxi trips to all these sites.
Horse riding facilities are also available a short drive away and there are also opportunities to tandem paraglide from the nearby mountains overlooking Olu Deniz.

Sandy beaches are reached by buses which run regularly along this remote coastal road taking you to the more touristy areas. Widely known as the Turquoise coast due the exceptionally clear blue waters found in this area, the sea provides many opportunities to swim, snorkel, and dive as well as numerous boat trips to visit local attractions such as Butterfly Valley and St. Nicholas Island.
Turkey's first long distance footpath passes directly behind the hotel and together with other local marked pathways, this provides a wide range of walks to suit all abilities.
One room has been set aside for therapies such as holistic massage, aromatherapy, and reflexology. It is fully equipped with a massage couch, and a professional complementary therapist is available to provide various treatments by appointment.
