Yoga, while it can be practiced at home as part of your regular daily life, it becomes a powerful tool for rapid transformation when in a retreat. That is when you can immerse yourself in the practice and deepen your knowledge of yoga. With that newly found strength gained during the retreat you will be able to approach your life with new depth and enthusiasm once you are back home. The health benefits of yoga are innumerable, helping your mental, emotional, and spiritual self.
The retreat will host a small number of participants allowing for personal attention. The central theme of the retreat is yoga practice for holistic health. Yoga offers a practical and scientific methodology for the all-round development of the person. We will practice a variety of yogic disciplines which when combined, work synergistically to enhance our physical, mental, emotional and spiritual faculties and well-being.
The accommodations are spacious, varying from 220 square feet to 350 square feet, with bed chamber and separate drawing room. Most rooms have south-facing windows and have one or two private balconies to watch the evening glow of the Kathmandu Valley.

Close to the main restaurant , offers accommodation designed to give conference delegates a good nights sleep after a productive day. Postures act as a lubricating routine to the joints, muscles, ligaments and other parts of the body, increasing circulation and flexibility.
They help to control the PRANA, life force and also increases its dimension. It uses diaphragmatic breathing, which is also called the ‘full yogic breath’. Prana is the subtle vital energy that keeps us alive.
Relaxation is nature’s way of recharging; it cools down the body just like the radiator of the car. Even while trying to rest, the average person expends a lot of physical and mental energy through tension. When the mind and body are constantly overworked, their natural efficiency diminishes. In order to achieve perfect relaxation, three methods are used by yogis: physical, mental, and spiritual relaxation.
Meditation creates profound changes in the psyche. By curbing and stilling the oscillations of the mind, meditation brings mental peace. As meditation brings about a prolonged positive state of mind, it rejuvenates body cells and delays decay or ageing. Stilling the mind helps to resolve fears and anxiety. It thus helps to find peace, contentment, and inner happiness.
Yogic science gives as much importance to certain cleansing processes as it does to asana or pranayama. Without regular cleansing of the system one cannot gain maximum benefit from yoga practices. Without purification of the body one will not be ready for the higher practices of yoga. Body cleansing is brought about by the practice of the shatkarmas or six purificatory techniques which are very important from the point of view of physical and mental health. These simple techniques are also highly valuable in healing internal disorders. There are six main groups of shatkarmas or yogic cleansers as follows:
Yoga Nidra which is derived from the teachings of the Tantras, is a powerful technique to consciously relax. In Yoga Nidra, sleep is not regarded as relaxation. Yoga nidra could be termed as “dynamic sleep”. It is a systematic method of inducing complete physical, mental and emotional relaxation. The term is derived from Sanskrit: yoga means union or one-pointed awareness and nidra means sleep. During the practice of Yoga Nidra one appears to be asleep, but the consciousness is functioning at a deeper level of awareness. Therefore yoga nidra is often referred to as psychic sleep or deep relaxation with inner awareness. In this threshold state between sleep and wakefulness, contact with the subconscious and unconscious dimensions occurs spontaneously.

We are located in the green and pollution free environment of Park Village Hotel, a tranquil oasis set in five acres of wooded gardens, located on the northern edge of the Kathmandu Valley, in Budhanilkantha, just below the Shivapuri National Park. Add one extra day to your wellness destination at HPW Centre for that beautiful invigorating walk in the Shivapuri National Park, just behind Park Village Hotel, where you can go all the way to the top for that exhilarating view of the valley and the Himalayan mountains around, as well as visiting on the way the Nagi Monastery, with their Tibetan nuns community doing their meditations and prayers.
Shivapuri nature walk is one of the most accessible forest trails near the city of Kathmandu for bird watchers, trekkers and mountain bike enthusiast. It is also the second highest hill around Kathmandu valley, situated at an elevation of 2,563 m at its highest point.
You will meet your guide after breakfast at HPWCentre, and start your walk from there to the famous and picturesque Boudhanilkantha, Narantan temple, only 10 minutes away. After that you start the climbing to the Shivapuri National Park main gate. After completing entry formalities, you will enter the watershed and wildlife area of this pristine forest. The trail goes along the rugged but drivable road through pine and cherry forest up to Nagi monastery which you will reach within oneand half hours.
Beyond the monastery, the trail goes steeply uphill through the oak, rhododendron and bamboo forest for another three hours. From the top you can enjoy (weather permit) the beauty of snowy Himalayas peaks such as Ganesh Himal, Langtang-Lirung and Dorji Lhakpa. We will take a shortcut downhill for about two and half hours back to Budhanilkantha and the hotel.

Mountain Biking through Kathmandu Valley is one of the best ways to see Nepals nature and its ways of live. A one day tour is a good opportunity to leave behind busy Kathmandu for a fewhours.
