Hridaya Yoga France invites you to join them for this at-home version of the 3-Day Hridaya Silent Meditation Retreat and give yourself the gift of both the time to go deep inside yourself and the ability to come together in practice with others, across all social isolation. In this way, you will be able to dive into our shared sacredness, transcending fear while opening to true love and compassion.

How the retreat works

This retreat will be shared via Zoom either live or on-demand, so you can join from the comfort of your own home. You will be provided with information on the technical aspects of the retreat prior to its start and will have an opportunity to ask questions so you will be well-prepared for the experience. Although joining remotely, Hridaya Yoga France asks that you follow the retreat schedule and abide by the retreat guidelines (keeping silence, sexual abstinence, no use of electronic devices except the one you will use for Zoom, etc.). If issues arise during the retreat, you will be able to contact the retreat coordinator for assistance.

You will also be able to send questions related to the practice to the retreat leader, who will answer them during nightly Q&A sessions.

An orientation video will be included in your pre-retreat email. They ask that you watch this video prior to the live Introduction and Q&A with the retreat leader on November 25th. This session will give you an opportunity to meet Sahajananda (below), the retreat leader, and ask clarifying questions about the at-home retreat experience. It is not possible to register for the retreat after this time.

Retreat information

During this retreat, you will learn methods for meditation encompassing, but not limited to, the unity of consciousness and Advaita Vedanta (non-duality). This leads to the self-discovery of the spiritual heart. The system of meditation will focus on the self-inquiry method developed by Ramana Maharshi, as well as other complementary meditations and prayers. They aim to inform you about the practical and theoretical aspects of this methodology, allowing ample opportunities to directly put it into practice.

In doing so, they hope that you will understand the underlying principles and value the purpose of meditation. Thus, reaping immediate benefits and coming to love meditation as an essential part of your life. This retreat features guided meditations, lectures, and practical tools including:

  • Ramana Maharshi’s method of introspection (self-inquiry, Atma vichara, using the question 'Who am I?')
  • Techniques for stilling the mind using breath awareness
  • Study of the symbolism of the spiritual heart
  • Methods for self-centering in everyday life
  • Daily meditations on themes connected with self-awareness
  • Hatha yoga sessions
