Wellness Retreat in Mexico for Women

Your intuition tells you that you’re naturally a radiant feminine force of love. Yet, in a culture that can fear and suppress the power of the Feminine, you’ve been taught to dim your light. It’s time to embrace that light. It’s time to rediscover the power of love that is the core of your being and to embody it for the benefit of all. Come, reveal the radiance of your own heart. Join Shakti Heart!

The cultural narratives you’ve learned and may live by are often ones that alienate you from your body, sensuality, menstrual cycle, femininity, and self-love. Perhaps you’d like to live by a new narrative that feels more truthful to your own heart—one that supports you to celebrate and embrace all aspects of your being in love, without needing to push anything away.

Through inspirational lectures and practical exercises, in this workshop, you’ll explore a new paradigm of how to relate to yourself—one that emphasizes acceptance, sacredness, and love. You may have been taught that all of this is to be found somewhere “out there”—once you’re in the right circumstance or the perfect relationship; once you lose that weight or find that dream job, only then will you find the authentic connection, peace, and love that you seek.

Yet there is a deeper truth. None of this is found outside of yourself. It is the very nature of the core of your being, and your heart is a gateway to connect with the inner freedom and boundless love that you are.

In this three-day workshop on heart-based practices and Tantra for women, you’ll come together with other like-minded women to create a space of support and sisterhood in which you can dive deep inside and discover the light of love within.

Join Hridaya Yoga International, as you peel away layers of fear and limitation, connect with your sacred femininity, and reveal the radiance of the heart!

Things to do (optional)

  • Discover the magical coast of Oaxaca and the three coastal fishing villages of Mazunte, San Agustinillo, and Zipolite.
  • Relax by the calm bay in nearby San Agustinillo, where local cafés line the beach, sheltering under a multitude of coconut palms swaying in the breeze, or take your surfboard down to Mazunte or Zipolite for more action-packed surf.
  • Take the 30-minute walk from the Hridaya Center to Punta Cometa, the southernmost peninsula on the Pacific side of the North American continent. Here the sunsets are spectacular, with the fading light bouncing off the sand and cliff faces.
  • Join an early morning ocean tour where you will encounter a sea swarming with life. Whales (seasonal), dolphins, turtles, stingrays, and flying fish are often there to behold.
  • Leave at first light for the nearby ecological reserve of Ventanilla, a mangrove swamp where you can see crocodiles, deer, iguanas, countless birds, and more.
  • Join one of Ola Verde’s expeditions. They offer fantastic half-day river rafting excursions on the Río San Francisco, just north of Tonameca.
  • Visit the museum and aquarium of the Mexican Turtle Center in Mazunte and get to know the life of one of the greatest species in the world: the sea turtle.
  • Head to the breathtaking waterfalls of the Cascadas Mágicas de Copalitilla. Only two hours away, but a world away.

Recommended Airports

Arrival by airplane

Please book your flight to arrive at Bahías de Huatulco International Airport (HUX) or Puerto Escondido International Airport (PXM). Airport transfer is not included. From the airports, please continue your journey by taxi.

From Huatulco Airport: There are several options. First, you can take a taxi from inside the airport directly to the center, but this is the most expensive way and will cost around 1400 MXN. Or, you can exit the airport and walk 200 meters to the main road. From here, you can take a private taxi (with good bargaining, around 700 MXN) directly to the center. Your last option is to exit the airport and find a shared taxi to Pochutla (about 45 MXN), and from there take a taxi (200 MXN) or colectivo (shared pickup truck, 20 MXN) to Mazunte/San Agustinillo. Note that all taxis charge more when you request air conditioning.

From Puerto Escondido Airport: A taxi from inside the airport will be around 1200 MXN. It’s cheaper to walk out of the airport to the main road, cross the street, and take a private taxi directly to Mazunte (700-800 MXN, more with air conditioning). Or, take a taxi (30 MXN) or colectivo (10 MXN) into the center of town. From there, you can catch a bus (in the direction of Pochutla or Huatulco) from near the SuperChe supermarket (50 MXN). Ask the driver to drop you off at Las Cruces de San Antonio (it’s the crossroads where the OXXO convenience store is located). From here, you can take a private taxi (100 MXN) or colectivo (15 MXN) into Mazunte or San Agustinillo. Or, a more expensive bus also leaves from the bus station.
