"The Jekyll Island Club Hotel is a little slice of heaven and has become a home away from home for me. My husband and I were married here last year, and our wedding was absolute perfection thanks to the hard work of the JICH staff. We are celebrating our first year anniversary this month and decided to make a trip back to the island. The staff welcomed us back with open arms and really made our trip extra special. We have stayed in many different parts of the resort, but this was our first time staying in Sans Souci and I believe we have found a new favorite spot. The rooms were so spacious and the ceilings were tall, but the best part was the large balcony. We spent our evenings sitting in the rocking chairs and sipping champagne while watching the sunset. Is there anything more perfect? On our last night, we had dinner at Crane Cottage (our wedding venue) and the food was amazing as always. We were seated outside in the courtyard and it was very romantic. Everything about the JICH is magical and it feels just like stepping back in time. I can absolutely understand why the wealthiest men in the world chose to make it their escape; I would escape to the Jekyll Island Club forever if I could. I cant say enough positive things about the entire staff. Housekeeping, front desk, management, bartenders, everyone is happy to provide an excellent experience for their guests and that is something that is quite rare to find these days. Southern hospitality at its finest. The Jekyll Island Club Hotel is a place that my husband and I will visit for years to come and I cant wait to share it with our future family. If youre planning a trip to Jekyll Island, please do yourself a favor and stay at this beautiful resort!"

"From entering the arches of Jekyll Island to the approach of Jekyll Island Club Hotel breathtaking 300-year-old trees covered in most beautifully preserved hotel, church, grounds, and mansions. We took our three-year-old daughter for bonding time. We visited the Turtle Center, took a dolphin tour, a Cinderella horse drawn carriage ride of the grounds, and history behind Jekyll Island Club Hotel. My granddaughter and I rented a bike with pull behind cart and rode a total of 27 miles in two days filled with irreplaceable memories. We had a blast. The 20-mile loop around the island is breathtaking and amazing. Service was impeccable! Bellmen were very attentive. Front desk were very helpful and assisted in all our reservations. They did everything to make your stay perfection. Our dining experience in the Grand Dining Hall was so amazing we went back the next day for lunch. The chef prepared items from the dinner menu for us for lunch, they were so accommodating. We plan on coming back. Next trip we will go horseback riding on the beaches. Amazing!"

"We went for a 4-day weekend. We've been to the area many times so we decided to stay at the hotel this time. We stayed in the old part of the club and really enjoyed our time there. The ambiance was warm and inviting, the people friendly and helpful. The room was nice and large, the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was acceptable. We had a dinner and Sunday brunch in the restaurant. I thought the food quality was good and flavor was nice. I ordered southern dishes and they were better than many I've had in other restaurants in the area in the past. The brunch was plentiful and the drinks were nicely balanced. We also ate one lunch at the restaurant on the pier across the street. The shrimp were excellent, large, and fresh. Just remember that you have to pay a small fee to go on the island and there are several options. If you are going to go on and off the island, get a longer pass which will be cheaper than paying for each trip. Go and enjoy a stay in a historic well-run hotel that has a lot to offer. We'll go back in the summer and see what it's like in warmer weather."

"Since we live in Jacksonville, we took a day trip to Jekyll Island and had lunch and took the tour. Beautiful historic hotel, and beautiful grounds and shops. If you love history, take the tram tour and see the cottages that the millionaires built on the grounds. We had lunch in the Crane Cottage and it was outstanding. Lunch was delicious and since it was a cold day we had a table right by the fireplace. Service was excellent. All the staff that we came in contact with was friendly and helpful. We plan on going back to stay for a weekend!"

"My husband and I came down for a mid-winter break, splurged for two nights in the presidential suite. The suite is the round tower above the main entrance, and consists of a bedroom, sitting area and very large bathroom with a large soaking tub and shower. The room also had a second floor turret room, accessible via a small spiral staircase, which was a bit of a climb, but had a great view, the balcony of the room was great, and I sat outside and read for almost two hours in the warm sunshine with the view of the croquet lawn and the marsh beyond. We ate at the Grand Dining Room for one dinner and one breakfast, the ambiance was great, the food was ok. We also attended a Craft Beer Dinner that was held that Saturday that was excellent, food and the beer pairings. We didn't use the spa or the fitness room so I can't comment on them; I did notice that there was a small pub as well as a Lobby Bar. We took the museum tour of the historic district around the hotel, and explored the island. We will definitely come back to the hotel."

"Extremely comfortable hotel, nearby three 18 holes golf courses inexpensive and very playable for all levels. Great pool at hotel, and for those who don't want upscale formal dining, there is a really good restaurant within walking distance of the hotel. Same for breakfast, although the grill at the golf course is about 1.5 miles away. The island itself is great to explore. A unique driftwood beach; a sand dune beach and 14 miles of bike trails. You can also opt to simply sit on the hotel porch in comfortable white rockers and watch people play croquet on the lawn adjacent to the hotel. All in all, a very relaxing, enjoyable environment."

"A friend told us about this great place after we said we were disappointed with a stay at nearby St. Simon's Island. We tried it and have come back 5 times. There is a lot of history about the super wealthy creating a vacation spot here much like Newport RI with its "cottages" which are actually mansions. The hotel is a beautiful old building thoughtfully furnished and creatively decorated. The grounds are superb with live oaks and Spanish moss everywhere. The hotel is situated on the Intracoastal Waterway and they also have a beach on the ocean side of the island with a shuttle bus to get you there. There are walking trails and bike rentals on the property as well. The hotel also offers a small fitness center and large outdoor pool. The main dining room is gorgeous and has fine food. Breakfast is served there and on a rounded porch with large windows looking out on the beautifully landscaped grounds. The buffet is priced at $13.95 which is a very fair price for the very extensive array of food, A small deli serves delicious sandwiches for lunch. There are shops on the grounds and an open air "train" that gives a guided tour, including stops at some of the historic houses. A horse drawn wagon ride is also available."

"This was our second trip back to Jekyll Island to escape winter for a bit. While it was still chilly the sun was shining and flowers were blooming! We love the grand hotel and surrounding buildings. Our first stay was in the annex and this time we were in the San Souci. Both buildings offer beautiful, spacious rooms with tall ceilings and balconies to enjoy the view. We took a trolley tour to learn the history of this place. It is interesting to find that the Federal Reserve was created here in a secret meeting between the wealthiest men in the country following the crash. Don't miss a walk on beautiful and haunting driftwood beach. Dining in the evening at the club hotel provides a wonderful setting which is hard to find these days."

"We love this place! It is so beautiful and filled with history! There are many room choices, so it would be a matter of preference. The grounds are spectacular and you will want to take the trolley tour and visit the Summer Cottages of the Politicians that lived there. I use the term "Cottages" lightly! If you have children, I would highly recommend the rescue Turtle center where they can view firsthand the sick turtles that were rescued and being brought back to a healthy state. Lots to do there, you won't be disappointed!"

"We have stayed here several times, and each time seems to surpass the previous experience. The hotel is a wonderful trip back in time. You can imagine what it was like to be one of the millionaires that used to stay here. Not everything is modern, thank goodness. Modern is there where it is most needed, as in modern bathrooms, internet connection, good cell reception with Verizon, at least. We went to celebrate out 45th wedding anniversary, and received unexpected benefits (champagne and strawberries appearing in our room at one point). The concierge went out of her way to make sure that the chef could prepare a special dessert for the anniversary dinner.Everyone on the staff seemed to know about it. Service beyond excellent. I am ready to go back again."
