Meditation Retreats (3)
Karen came to India in 1997 for a three-week holiday and decided to make Kerala her home. For 10 years, she ran yoga and massage holidays in Kovalam. From 2007 until mid-2012, she lived, worked, served, and followed Zen at Bodhi Zendo, blessed to have guidance and support from a Zen master, AMA Samy. She then returned to the 'marketplace' and began a new chapter with Kin-Hin. She is also a qualified aromatherapist with over 20 years experience. Her diploma in holistic aromatherapy was obtained from the Tisserand Institute in London in 1993.

The place was perfect for a yoga getaway but what really breathed a soul into the place were Karen's lightness and Sivan's gentle support for yoga. The human touch...really.

"Meditation as part of your holiday is a great idea! "
Meditation twice a day together with experienced and most friendly Karen Sivan is a treat on any holiday. Wether you are a regular meditator or not, it adds a dimension when sittning with likemindeds, and it gives your leisure day a welcome structur. I also had the breakfast package - lovely fruitsallad to start off the day!

"A must-do! "
Everything about this stay was perfect for me! I was the only guest at this time so I had private yoga and meditation classes! They take place on a decked roof amongst coconut palms, with sounds of birds mixed with Temple music...
I loved the home-cooked meals! Sivan's massages are really worth doing as well.
The owners made me feel at home, it felt more like visiting friends... They were also helpful with moving around in the neighbourhood as well as with planning the onward journey, choosing the trusted tuktuk and taxi drivers.
It was a perfect soft landing to the Indian ground for a first-timer in India!
