Valerie's natural curiosity for life and passion for self-development has brought her to a journey that started 19 years ago when she actively chose to go deeper into the study of the human psyche taking her undergraduate studies in psychology. From there her interest grew far and wide, diving into different alternative healing therapies from kalimasada, qui gong, meditation, reiki, yoga etcetera. Now with deeper and wider sensitivities she is a 200 hour certifed yoga teacher and WSF/Raid Freedive instructor with a simple intention to bring you to your own personal experience of the divine.
As a certified 200 hour yoga teacher and WSF/Raid Freedive Instructor Marine creates a space where she can facilitate an experience of a deep personal journey balanced with a playful and lighthearted perspective in life. This retreat will take place in Camiguin Island, Philippines. Relatively unspoiled and an ideal size for exploration, Camiguin (cah-mee-geen) is notable for its imposing silhouette, drop it down next to Hawaii or Maui and it wouldn’t look out of place.
With over 20 cinder cones 100-meter plus high, Camiguin has more volcanoes per square kilometer than any other island on earth. And because it’s untouched by large-scale tourism and one of the more tranquil islands around, the 10 kilometers of Gingoog Bay separating the island from the mainland are partly responsible for those who do come feel proprietorial about this little jewel and guard news of its treasures like a secret.
Besides the usual diving, snorkeling, and sandy beaches (except for offshore ones, beaches have brown sand), Camiguin offers a chance to climb a volcano and a seemingly endless supply of jungle waterfalls and hot and cold springs, as quoted from Lonely Planet.
Kurma Eco Beach Lodge's interpretation of local fusion cuisine using fresh and local produce will ignite your taste buds, satisfy your hunger, and warm your hearts. Some of the dishes served at Kurma Eco Beach Lodge are vegetarian steak with beansotto, creamy tangy spaghetti, root salad, yogurt flatbread with dips, naked beef pie, and Asian invasion.
The easiest way to get to Camiguin Island after you have flown into the Philippines is to get a flight from Manila to Camiguin. There is one flight coming in everyday with Cebu Pacific airline. This flight will have a layover in Cebu before arriving to Camiguin but you will be able to book the flight directly from Manila to Camiguin.
From Bohol you can also take a boat every Monday, Wednesday and Friday leaving Jagna, Bohol at 1 pm.
