The beautiful stone farmhouse, built in the 19th century, features panoramic views of the old castle of Montecchio and Cortona, a short drive from the farmhouse. S. Savino Mountain, Lucignano, and the Trasimeno Lake are all close by, offering plenty of cultural attractions and the folklore of international renown.

The farmhouse is situated in the Chiana Valley, a beautiful natural environment characterized by low hills, each concealing an endless variety of landscapes. And nearby, there is a two and a half-acre park surrounded by vineyards, olive, and fruit trees: pears, wild cherries, hazels, figs, apricots, peaches, plums, grapes, and more.

Join The Sanctuary at Two Rivers - Liz Lindh for daily Lakshmi rising yoga with Dr. Liz Lindh (Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Credits available), gourmet welcome dinner featuring local specialties and wines, cooking class followed by a decadent dinner celebration, options for curated excursions to cultural sites, food and wine adventures to farms, vineyards, truffle hunting, thermal springs, shopping, in-house massage therapy and healing bodywork, and exclusive enjoyment of a beautiful 12-acre private park just outside of beautiful Cortona.

The Sanctuary at Two Rivers - Liz Lindh has chosen a magical farmhouse contoured by a hundred holm oaks and a rose garden as the setting for your spring yoga teacher training in Tuscany. It is an elegant charm and serene atmosphere is the perfect setting for learning and transformation. This charming farmhouse is 20 minutes outside of Cortona, the location where 'Under The Tuscan Sun' took place. It is located near both of the infamous wine regions, Chianti and Montepulciano.

The town of Cortona itself is perched in the hills at the base of the Apennine mountains, between the gorgeous Adriatic and Tyrrhenian coasts. Cortona is a 30-minute drive northeast of Montepulciano (home of Vino Nobile di Montepulciano) and south of Arezzo, the heart of Chianti’s Colli Aretini. And nearby in the neighboring province of Umbria is Lake Trasimeno. Tuscany is an enchanting setting for your yoga teacher training to cultivate personal growth and exploration.

Things to do (optional)

Mannucci Droandi boutique bio-dynamic winery tour with a multi-course gourmet vegetarian lunch featuring a traditional Tuscan countryside menu paired with their unique and delicious award-winning wines. Your hosts, Roberto and Maria-Grazia, are pioneers in the organic farming and SlowFood movements in Italy. For about ten years, now the estate has been working on projects aiming to perfect monitoring methods and the battle against fungi and parasitic pests to reduce the use of chemical products in eco-compatible wine-growing.

Mannucci Droandi does not use any chemical fungicides, and only uses organic fertilizers. Another reason they love Roberto and Maria Grazia is because of the work they have done cultivating old vine varieties that were once widespread in the area and are now faced with extinction. Starting with the 2000 vintage, the grapes of these vines have undergone their first micro-vinification and promise well for the future.

Other interesting but more widely tested varieties have been reproduced in small quantities, such as the Foglia Tonda, the Barsaglina, the Pugnitello, which you will have the chance to enjoy during this special lunch. You explore and tour the winery and cellars which are situated on the eastern slopes of the Chianti mountains overlooking the ancient fortified village of Caposelvi. All around are other villages, castles, churches, villas and cottages extending as far as the eye can see, scattered here and there on hillsides shaped by men, where vineyards and olive groves alternate with lush oak and pine woods.

This area is still little-known, but of great interest. Vines are intensively grown here and the area is revealing enormous potential, particularly over the last decade, thanks to the commitment of local winegrowers who have started making really fine wines. You will spend the day relaxing, bathing in warm mineral pools, and enjoying authentic European spa treatments for health and wellbeing. The mineral waters of the San Giovanni Terme Rapolano pools naturally flow from the source at a temperature of 102 degrees Fahrenheit or 39 degrees Celsius.

The natural elements that compose them are sulfur, which characterizes the smell, and calcium bicarbonate. The two elements, combined with the high temperature of the water, give many healing properties in addition to the feelings of relaxation and general well-being. These waters are particularly suitable for treatments of the skin, relaxing the muscles, giving greater elasticity to the tissues and purification for the airways, with a clear improvement in breathing. You will have a group dinner in their beautiful restaurant to close the day. Please note that excursions cost extra are subject to change without notice.
