When the deep spirit and spectacular beauty of the Hawaiian islands called your hosts, Richard and Natalie, to come live in the magic and power of these islands almost 40 years ago, they explored, connected with and embraced the most inspiring places, people and experiences that thrilled them, opened their hearts and supported the passion in their relationship. These experiences are now offered to a small group of couples to experience the love of true Hawaii.
Imagine yourself and your partner embraced by this Hawaiian Couples Adventure program that takes care of all your needs and offers an authentic experience of Hawaii.

Lokahi Garden Sanctuary is a sustainable working farm, garden sanctuary, and retreat center. Founded by Richard Liebmann, N.D. and Natalie Young, Lokahi Garden Sanctuary is dedicated to serving their Ohana (human family) by offering programs and practices that encourage Lokahi (harmony and balance within and without) and providing opportunities to experience an intimate relationship with the Aina (earth).
Located in historic North Kohala on the Big Island of Hawaii on 10 lush acres with sweeping ocean views and the island of Maui, Lokahi Garden Sanctuary includes extensive vegetable, medicinal and culinary herb gardens, fruit and nut orchards, and small tree forests that include native and "useful" trees. The sanctuary is also home to an active farm internship program where people live and learn about nurturing the soil, growing organic foods, caring for animals, and living sustainably.
Richard began his journey to health and wellness in his early 20s living in Israel. He returned to the United States to attend the National College of Naturopathic Medicine in Portland, Oregon. Richard graduated with high honors in 1977 and for the next two years working at the college teaching and in the administration as Academic Dean. In 1979 Richard moved to the big island of Hawaii and opened the Hawaii Family Health Clinic. After his work in the clinic, Richard began integrating his experience practicing Naturopathic Medicine into expanded arenas.
Natalie Klausman Young fell in love with Hawaii in 1977 while living in a tent for a month in the wilderness of Kalalau Valley on Kauai. Her passion for the interconnection of people to people and people to nature as embodied by the land and people of Hawaii bought her to live here permanently in 1981. Her childhood was infused with a great love of the outdoors, dance and health. She earned her college degree from Washington University (Sociology/Anthropology and Modern Dance) and her graduate degree from Tulane University (Masters of Social Work).
Lokahi Garden Sanctuary is a magical place. Experience the sunrises and sunsets that are often awe-inspiring. Gaze up to the night sky ablaze with innumerable stars and galaxies with the Milky Way arching across the sky. The tranquility, beauty, and privacy of the space is profound.
