Love is the Prize is located in a beautiful piece of land at 3,500 feet elevation between Santa Ysabel and the historic town of Julian, California. This is a 10.8 acre property located at the Headwaters of the San Diego River. With many large stunning rock outcroppings and Metates carved into the rock, this has been the home to many Native Americans before.
They have many varieties of native plants. The location here is very unique because they are located in a transition zone right in the middle of the low elevation coastal plants and the high elevation mountainous plants.
On the walking paths here, they have one California Native Plant(s) clearly labeled. They are just starting this project so they may have six or seven plants labeled when you come.
They want this to be a demonstration garden for Southern California Native Plants. Some of the native plants are edible. This area has beautiful, expansive views and rich California "Gold Rush" history. The place is surrounded by many Native American reservations and have beautiful hiking trails. And it's located an hour away from the city of San Diego and two hours from Los Angeles. They also feature the largest Labyrinth in California.
There is a full kitchen available for guest's usage, but guests haven't used it much because these detox drinks for breakfast, lunch, and dinner are quite filling.
A guest wrote: "The juices provided were organic, local, and very filling! I actually didn't even need extra food."
Love is the Prize will supply all the major spices, vinegar, and oils and you bring your own food if you think you will need a little something extra, either prepared from your local store or unprepared.
Extra meals are not included nor is coffee. They include tea (decaf and caffeine) and detox juice or smoothies for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They recommend guests to have a vegan-only diet one to two days before check-in to ease into this transition. Not every guest wants to have just juice/smoothie and so, they provide two refrigerators in which guests can store their food. Many guests bring granola bars.
Private counseling session and life coaching session from Memo Ozdogan and Jennifer Robinson are available for 60 USD. The sessions fill quickly, kindly reserve in advance.
