This retreat is for those who are ready to transcend themselves. There is a shift happening and people are putting spirituality at the top of their personal list. In this retreat, Love is the Prize will help you with one thing most everyone is wanting in their lives and that is having a purpose in life.
There are three houses on site. The first house: a four-bedroom rustic house built in 1940. There is a total of two and a half bathrooms in which one is a private bathroom. All the bedrooms are upstairs. The downstairs of the house is shared by everyone.
There is a living room, dining room, kitchen, wood fireplace, half bathroom, piano, and a nice courtyard with a patio. The second house is a large one bedroom apartment house with shared triple rooms.
There is a shared living room, eating room, and kitchen. The downstairs of the main house is open to all. The third house is where the staff lives and stays.
Every guest will receive detox drinks for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Please bring extra food if you think you will need it. We have a full kitchen available for all our Guests with two refrigerators available.
In the late afternoons, you will optionally take a walk to see a glorious mountain sunset on some nights. Bring a jacket on the walk because it gets cold on the walk back.

-We Live in a beautiful piece of land at 3,500 feet elevation between Santa Ysabel, CA and the historic town of Julian, California. This is a 10.8 acre property located at the Headwaters of the San Diego River. With many large stunning rock outcroppings and Metates carved into the rock, this has been the home to many before us. We have many varieties of native plants. The location here is very unique because we are located in a transition zone right in the middle of the low elevation coastal plants and the high elevation mountainous plants. On the walking paths here, we have one California Native Plant(s) clearly labeled. We are just starting this project so we may have five or six plants labeled when you come. We want this to be a demonstration garden for Southern California Native Plants. Some of the native plants are edible. We are in a drought and we feel this education is wise. This area has beautiful, expansive views and rich California Gold Rush history. We are surrounded by many Native American reservations and have beautiful hiking trails. We live an hour away from the city of San Diego and two hours from Los Angeles. We feature the largest Labyrinth in California.
There is a full kitchen available for guest's usage, but Guest's haven't used it much because these detox drinks for breakfast, lunch and dinner are quite filling!
A Guest wrote: "The juices provided were organic, local, and very filling! I actually didn't even need extra food."
Love is the Prize will supply all the major spices, vinegar, and oils and you bring your own food if you think you will need a little something extra, either prepared from your local store or unprepared.
Extra meals are not included. They include detox juice or smoothies for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They recommend guests to have a vegan only diet one to two days before check-in to ease into this transition. Not every guest wants to have just juice/smoothie and so, they provide two refrigerators in which guests can store their food. Many Guests bring granola bars.
