Included excursions

Acropolis and Acropolis Museum

The Parthenon on the Acropolis, one of the symbols of the birth of western civilization, is the must see site for all visitors to Athens.

Sounion Peninsula

The Temple of Poseidon (god of the sea) perched on a hill overlooking the sea at the very tip of the Attiki is the perfect outing for fantastic views and sunsets. Stop in Vouliagmenis for ice-cream or cocktail on the return trip.

Escape to the relative peace and quiet of ancient Marathon. Visit the ancient tomb and the museum and then spend the afternoon relaxing at the beaches in Schinias followed by a vegetarian meal at the hosts’ summer house.

The Plaka is old Athens, like a small island in the middle of the city, somewhere, where you can minimize contact with the aspects of modern Athenian life, many people find unpleasant, cars, pollution, noise, and crowds. The Plaka is a great area to be in, if you like shopping, eating, wandering around or just plain hanging out watching people. It adjoins the Monastiraki flea market area where you can find souvenirs of every type and to every taste. There are archaeological sites to wander around or cafeterias to sit in for those of you who do not like to shop.
