Nourish yourself after the damaging effects of cancer and intensive cancer treatments such as chemotherapy and radiation with the help of the specialist cancer treatments using Ayurveda and Sri Lankan Indigenous medicines in this retreat. The special program is heavily personalized to each guest and the retreat is run with special supervision by the Cancer Specialist Ayurvedic doctor.
The property is a colonial planters bungalow consisting of the main villa and the lodge, each about two minutes walking distance from each other. The lodge is the original house of the first occupier of this colonial treasure. With time, their son built a bigger home to house his expanding family which becomes the villa.
The villa consists of eight rooms (two suite rooms and six deluxe rooms) and the dining hall, lounge, veranda, and spa. The lodge consists of 10 standard rooms and an open veranda. Both the villa and the lodge were renovated in end 2015 and are decorated to contemporary colonial style in keeping with the age of the property and to meet our guest comforts and modern needs.
All of the standard rooms are in the lodge and they also have a beautiful open veranda. The rooms and bathrooms are completed beautifully to include modern guest requirements. The rooms have fans but they are not air conditioned.

You will find this holiday experience very different from a normal activity packed holiday or even a normal spa holiday. Plantation Villa are offering a very unique opportunity for you to be amidst nature and totally relax whilst you are pampered using the knowledge of century old Vedic traditions and mindfulness practices.
You will arrive to a completely natural environment with no man-made distractions. The idea is that when the physical body is not too active and there are not many distractions to stimulate the mind, it turns inwards into understanding and feeling your own emotions and cognitive behavior patterns.
Most of the modern day life is so full of distractions that you are left with little or no time to really examine your inner-self. As a result, you will become so unaware of your own emotions and the impact it is having on your physical body.
Once you arrive, the friendly team will help you settle into your room. Your room is air conditioned if you do feel the heat, and you can tap into the free Wi-Fi if you want to connect with your family. After you settle in, you will meet the Ayurvedic Doctor for a consultation. Your first day’s treatment will be light as the body needs time to settle in to the environmental changes, effects of flying and jet lag.
Ayurveda is very much a gentle push to the body to help recover itself or get to its optimum balance. It works very much with the speed of your body. Introduction of treatments to the body is done gently and gradually.
It is the perfect environment to relax and treat the physical body whilst learning the tools to heal the mind from the difficult and challenging period you are going through and learning how to enjoy life and live healthily going forward.
Cancer and some of the western treatments for cancer can be extremely deflating and toxifying the body and mind leaving you exhausted and worn out. It is imperative to get the right care to support your physical body by detoxifying and supporting the immune system to fight the cancerous cells and avoid a recurrence.
All of the doctors are experts in the field and represent Sri Lanka at international health conferences and make some Ayurvedic herbal medicines. The facility is also equipped to treat patients with acute illnesses including cancer, terminal cancer, depression, paralysis, and others. All medicines that are not made by the team are sourced from trusted, local suppliers known for quality.
The soils are medicated and the therapists have over 15 years of experience, basing their massage area of focus and choice of oil and herbs according to each guest’s individual needs. The team of staffs is willing to please having true Sri Lankan village hospitality.
There will be an invigorating morning yoga class and a restorative evening class followed by a guided meditation, catered to guests with all different levels of experience. Additional private yoga classes and guided meditations can be arranged upon request.

Set in the small village of Nehinna, Kalutara in Sri Lanka, the resort is surrounded by a lush, green rain forest. The property itself is a colonial planter’s bungalow amidst a 30-acre plantation of rubber, coconut, cinnamon, and black pepper and is a natural habitat for rare local and migrant birds, butterflies, and a plethora of tropical flora and fauna. Nature at its best including a natural waterfall.
You will be served with daily breakfast, lunch, and dinner. There will also be tea and snacks. The ‘Farm to Plate Policy’ ensures that the majority of the food that is served to you comes directly from the plantations own rice paddy field, organic vegetable, fruit spice, and herb garden.
Free from the artificial preservatives, coloring's, and pesticides, all meals on site are home made from healthy, fresh ingredients. Anything that is not picked straight from the organic gardens is sourced locally and ethically so that quality of the food is not compromised.
The doctor has reviewed the menus and ensured they are nutritionally balanced. The meals are mainly vegetarian and gluten and sugar free. Guests are invited to join in on harvesting activities during seasons or learn about their favorite dishes through Ayurvedic healthy cookery demonstrations and go picking the ingredients from the ground. The complete experience encourages a more hands on approach to wellness and promotes changes to unhealthy lifestyle choices and habits for good.
During your free time, you can join activities organized by the resort, such as Ayurvedic barbeques, outdoor dining evenings, dance, or singing performances by local talent, or celebrations of local festivities. You can also hire a bicycle for rides around the surrounding villages or hire a car for the following day trips. The excursions are available at an extra cost.

This is a turtle conservation project to help save turtles from extinction. You can see and learn about turtles and have the opportunity to release baby turtles to the sea.

This is an opportunity to see elephants in their own natural habitat. Holding the largest population of elephants in Sri Lanka, you are almost guaranteed to see elephants here.
