Rest, rejuvenate, and regenerate on a beautiful eco country retreat! When it is warm, it is easier for the body to be in a detox process. Located in a countryside where timeless beauty meets beautiful natural setting, the summer detox offers a basic, solid foundation in healthy, clean eating and living so that you know how to minimize toxin intake, support the body’s innate ability for detoxification, and lead a more balanced life.
Holycombe will be the perfect setting for this retreat. A natural stream rises from a holy well in the nearby wood, passes though the grounds and down a waterfall. The sound of running water adds to the sense of peace and tranquility. A coppice provides shady outdoor space; there's a campfire area and a large stone circle on the castle site.
Across a meadow is the ancient Whichford Wood with many rare species of trees and plants, an abundance of wood anemones, primroses, and bluebells in spring; chestnuts, blackberries, and sloes in autumn. Wildlife abounds: everything from Muntjack to polecats and kingfishers.
There are five bedrooms all together. Upstairs there is a double-bedded room with kitchenette, two twins beds, and bathroom with bath or shower. Downstairs there is a double-bedded room, one twin-bedded room, and another bathroom with bath or shower. There is a cozy sitting room with log fire and an attractive tiled kitchen with washing machine, dishwasher, fridge, freezer and under-counter oven and electric hob, and all necessary utensils.
The kitchen french windows open out on the south facing patio, and beautiful view. Although the house sleeps 10, it is most comfortable with six to eight guests as the kitchen and sitting room are not huge. Guests are asked to bring there own top and bottom sheets, pillow cases, and towels unless they are travelling from abroad, and then Holycombe will supply them for a small extra charge. The house is centrally heated and there is abundant hot water.
Summer is the perfect time for the body to cleanse fully, allowing for deep relaxation and regeneration. Rina would love you to join her on a journey deeper into what wellbeing means for you, and from that knowledge to find sustainable, practical ways to bring about positive change in your life. The retreats provide a gentle way to cleanse, nourish, rebalance your system, allowing you to return to your self.
Your body is already an expert at detoxifying and restarting itself, what I provide is time, space, methods, and practices to help you help yourself and find a more balanced lifestyle. Rina runs a number of seasonally tailored retreats throughout the year. The groups are small (no more than 18 people) so that she can spend time with each participant and for the period of the retreat, you can spend time together as a living community.
The retreat does not entail harsh regimes or fasting. You will practice yoga together, exploring physical, mental and spiritual balance through movement and breath. You and Rina will cook and eat together learning how food can nourish our bodies and balance your entire selves. You will reconnect with nature and with our natural selves in the beautiful family run, ecological spaces that Rina has carefully chosen for the retreat.
Teaching yoga is a joy Rina has had the opportunity offer guidance on the mat for the last 13 years. During the retreat, she offers supportive playful classes suited to beginners as well as those who have spent more time on a yogic path. The classes focus on the liver and lymphatic system meridians using vinyasa and Restorative yoga and breathing exercises to regenerate and support the nervous system. You will also look at companion breathing exercises to help alkalize the body and stimulate the liver function.
You will finish the sessions with meditation or yoga Nidra, an ancient form of deep relaxation to set an intention and release deep tensions. Rina's retreats combine structure and space to just be; action and relaxation; opportunity for learning and reconnecting; opportunity for reflection. They start on Fridays at 4:00 p.m. (it’s okay to be late, just let her know) and finish at 3:00 p.m. on Sundays.
The retreat will take place in Holycombe, a beautiful residential holistic retreat center, set in a verdant wooded valley on the edge of the Cotswold village of Whichford. The venue is only a few miles from beautiful Cotswold market towns such as Stow-on-the-Wold and Moreton-in-the-Marsh. The neolithic Rollright Stones are only three miles away. The Norman Knight pub and the famous Whichford Pottery which makes hand-made decorated terracotta and painted pots is just around the corner.
Beautiful, organic, seasonal, and where possible, local food is central to every retreat. Together, you and Rina Golan will prepare and eat both cooked and raw foods chosen to nourish the body and support mental and physical balance. Nourishment is a core element of Rina Golan's work and the retreats include guidance and education of how you can use food to rejuvenate the self.
During you and Rina Golan's time together, you will learn how to prepare superfood shakes, smoothies, cook healthy delicious food, including raw chocolate and turmeric shots (all sugar, gluten, and animal protein free).
During your stay in the UK, you may book extra treatments. Enhance your stay with additional treatments which are available at extra 65 GBP an hour. A one-on-one coaching is available at 65 GBP an hour.
You can also explore the beautiful countryside. Whichford Wood, an area of outstanding natural beauty which boasts a wealth of flora and fauna, is close to the venue. It's also located a short walk from the Norman Knight pub, a classic, award winning Cotswold pub, which serves excellent grub and has live music nights.
Whichford Pottery is a wonderful place to visit with the exquisite Octagon shop, and offering gardening masterclasses and adult pottery workshops. There is also the Straw Kitchen cafe at the Pottery which has delicious brunches and lunches, with handmade bread and locally sourced food.
Please book your flight to arrive at Heathrow Airport (LHR) or Gatwick Airport (LGW). From Heathrow and Gatwick there is an aiport bus to Oxford, but then you have to get from Oxford to Chipping Norton by bus or by train from Oxford to Banbury or Moreton-in-Marsh, or airport coach from Heathrow to Banbury. From either Banbury or Moreton in Marsh or Chipping Norton you would need to get a taxi. Other than that, sharing a taxi from Heathrow might be the answer.
