Villa Campostefani is the main guest villa and, together with the Fienile cottage, it has eight spacious bedrooms, a fully equipped kitchen with adjoining dining room and two comfortable kitchenettes. There are many separate living areas, both indoors and out, with ample room for guests to settle in and make themselves at home.
Be sure to light up the barbecue and wood-fired pizza oven. There is Wi-Fi for all to enjoy, a small library to peruse at your leisure and a satellite television in the upstairs family room.
All the rooms in Campostefani have traditional terracotta floors, deliciously cool underfoot in summer, and views onto the gardens where herbs and vegetables are growth, or onto the vineyards, olive trees, walnut groves, and surrounding woodlands.
Within the main villa are seven spacious bedrooms, many of which have en-suite bathrooms and direct access to the gardens. The master bedroom has a private terrace. Furthermore, the old barn, a thousand years, was restored and converted into a quaint two-story cottage with en-suite bathroom and stunning views from the bedroom balcony. It is practically an independent villetta with its own kitchen and living area.
Each day there will be four yoga and meditation sessions. The focus of your sessions is to open energy pathways, quiet the mind and to remember and experience the stillness and ease of your true nature, the timelessness of pure consciousness.
Yoga sessions invite the cultivation of deep listening, and fluid unwinding, while awakening sensation as guide back to bodys innate intelligence. This approach to practice shifts the habit of doing asana to an unfolding, by feeling and sensing your way thru the practice. Sessions will be guided with periods for self-exploration and discovery.
Meditation and self-inquiry sessions will focus on becoming familiar with the rest and ease of your essential nature in the midst of all activity. The meditation sessions offer mindfulness and breath awareness based on Vipassana meditation as well as non-dual, open awareness meditation, and self-inquiry.
Each evening silence will be observed after the evening meditation until after breakfast the following morning. There will be additional periods of silence in the retreat. Anyone may choose to have as much alone time as they would like to extend the periods of silence. Most people today have busy lives and spend very little time in silence.
Silence is restful, being the mirror of your natural state. Silent community creates a supportive environment in which to deepen understanding, awareness, openness, and compassion. This greatly enhances the benefits of a yoga retreat.
Surya Chandra Das
Surya began studying Hatha yoga and meditation in 1988 and has taught classes and yoga retreats since 1990. His teaching of yoga asana and pranayama is influenced by his studies with T.K.V. Desikachar in Madras, India, Victor van Kooten, Angela Farmer, Richard Miller, a variety of teachers in the Iyengar tradition and the teachings of Yin yoga. Studies in Authentic Movement and Continuum Movement have contributed to his interest in exploring the formless contained within the form of yoga postures. Surya has also been influenced by the teachings of Jiddu Krishnamurti.
Patricia Sunyata Brown
Patricia has been blending asana, meditation, movement and stillness since 1980. Began studying yoga asana in the Iyengar community, and later with Angela Farmer and teachers of the Vanda Scaravelli approach. She began sitting Vipassana meditation retreats with SN Goenka and with teachers from the Insight Meditation Society and Forest Refuge. Studies in meditative movement with Jungian based Authentic Movement, Continuum, the innovative work of Emile Conrad, as well as Five Rhythms with Gabriella Roth. Studies in Ayurveda, Somatics and Source Point Therapy.

Rolling Meadows Retreat can organize guided hikes, horse riding and cycling, and excursions to thermal baths, Romanesque abbeys, and sculpture gardens. You could visit a vineyard and sip on a bold Brunello accompanied by a variety of local cheeses or learn how to make pasta like nonna right there in the farm kitchen.

Please arrive at Via Tozzi bus station. Rolling Meadows will pick you up from the bus station. The pick-up at the N.H. Hotel Excelsior on Piazza la Lizzie and the drop off at the Siena bus station are included in the price.
