During this retreat, you will be staying at Dharmakaya Center for Wellbeing in a private room with a shared bathroom or a private room with a private bathroom. Each participant will have a private bedroom for rest and study. Shared rooms for couples are also available.

Program

In Sanskrit, the word “chakra” means “disk” or “wheel” and refers to the energy centers that run along your spine. These energy vortexes each correspond to specific nerve bundles and major organs - and to a unique level of development and consciousness. Each chakra metabolizes energy in unique ways. To function at their best, your chakras need to stay open, or balanced. If they get blocked, you may experience negative physical or emotional symptoms. As you explore the role of each chakra and its effect on your wellbeing, you will learn:

  • The Sanskrit translation
  • Subtle anatomy
  • Qualities of the chakras: location, element, sense, yantra, mantra
  • Psychological aspects of the chakra: too fast, too slow, or balanced
  • Methods for creating balance through chanting, breathing, and asana (yoga poses)
  • Methods for creating balance through food (including specific herbs), colors, meditation, and other means

Shakti Yoga & living arts Winkler will offer practical information and various practices to help you maintain energetic cohesiveness. The more you understand how to monitor your energy body, the more you are able to open up to greater ease and peace in your personal lives.
