In this eight-day course, you will explore the ancient tradition of Thai massage and how it has been taught for centuries in the north of Thailand. The combination of static and dynamic techniques creates a sacred dance that allows the patient to relax into a deep experience of release and openness. You will learn a great treatment combining acupressure, stretch technique, and massage from a very experienced teacher.
The feeling in Shambala is that of being a community space. For this reason, you will be expected to share a room with a fellow yogi. Unless otherwise stated in your booking, the couples will be placed randomly but of the same gender. This is a wonderful opportunity to have deep connections that could otherwise have never been planned.
The types of accommodation are as follows:
Twin rooms can be booked as single rooms with an extra surcharge when available. All accommodation has shared showers and bathrooms.
A Thai massage course is always a spiritual experience that combines meditation and the practice of loving-kindness, and for those interested particularly on learning massage, it is a great opportunity to know more about this beautiful healing technique.
When receiving Thai massage, there are many benefits in the physical aspect but the ultimate goal of the practice is a deep healing for both the giver and the receiver.
Thai massage is a communion between two people, a co-creation of touch and presence. The way you move, the way you breathe, the way you touch, the way you allow healing to happen and flow. This is the ancient art of Thai yoga massage.
Thai yoga massage brings penetrating massage and gentle yoga movements into a profound healing system. It will leave you feeling deeply nourished, relaxed, and filled with energy.
This course is perfect for you if you have never done a Thai massage course (beginners level 1) and if you some Thai massage experience (advance level 2). Itzhak will be holding both levels in parallel.
At the end of the course, you will receive an international diploma as Thai yoga masseur from the prestigious Sunshine Network.
This is a massage system that will achieve powerful results for both practitioner and client.
According to Ayurvedic science, there is an extensive network of energy lines running throughout the body. It is through the massaging and stretching of this network of energy lines that Thai yoga massage releases tension. By allowing energy to flow more freely, the massage might work to alleviate problematic conditions such as lower back pain, arthritis, headaches, digestive difficulties, menstrual problems, and stress-related conditions.
Promoting this free flow of energy also works to restore balance and create a deep state of relaxation and well-being for both the client and practitioner.
As a practitioner, you will feel blessed when so many of your clients tell you that they haven’t felt this good in years.
Furthermore, even though it is an active massage, it doesn’t feel like work. Instead, it is an expression of feeling truly alive.
This massage teaches you how to conserve energy, to bring your whole body into your work, and avoid exhaustion and other chronic ailments in the hands, arms and shoulders that are common in other massage forms.
You receive the blissful benefits of yoga and gentle stretching that are at the core of both giving and receiving.
