"Enjoy, and leave your Western expectations behind "
I participated in a one month teacher training at Shivalaya, and really enjoyed and treasured my time there. The setting is spectacular and you truly feel lucky to practice yoga in such a beautiful, special and secluded place. Plus, the food is really, really good. You probably won't even miss meat! However, I do have to caveat that this place is great for a person who can leave all their Western expectations at the door upon arrival. The teaching style and approach to a teacher training is very different in Nepal, and you really do have to be flexible (both literally and figuratively) and go with the flow. If you have a certain idea in mind for what you should learn and how a yoga teacher training should run, maybe you should seriously consider doing a training in your own country. But if you're the kind of person who comes into this with no previous expectations or ideas, and just wants to learn, you'll love it.

De docenten zijn oprecht. Ze willen overdragen dat yoga veel meer is dat alleen asanas, maar een manier om een prettig en ontspannen leven te hebben.
De staff (de familie die het centrum draait) is heel betrokken en staat altijd voor je klaar.

Had a wonderful time during my 200hours TTC. We were immersed in the amazing culture and beauty of nepal while doing lots of yoga. What more can you ask for?
Excellent spot at Begnas Lake to relax and to enjoy the peaceful environment. Bishnu and his family are very welcoming and the yoga teacher is very passionate about his teaching. Great for Yoga holidays and good for quiet weekends to recharge your batteries.
A perfect place for yoga and meditation... breathtaking view of begnas lake. A small village where nature is still prevailing. Jungle walk is another option where u can see different types of birds and very warm welcoming villagers..
