During this retreat, you will be staying at Villa Varia, hosted by Prabhu Anand Kaur (Ingrid Klabbers). This villa is situated in a beautiful natural reserve close to the Pellenberg Hospital, but is at the same time easily accessible from Leuven and Tienen. The energetic place which has come to exist here is described by others as a home, an oasis, and a place to find peace.
This place has come into existence very organically, both through the cooperation with Japjeet Rajbir Kaur Khalsa (who runs a three-day retreat every four to six weeks) and through the Kundalini yoga level one training ran by Hari Krishan Singh.
You may choose to sleep in one of the several shared double rooms or private rooms.
This annual yoga retreat gives women from all over the world the opportunity to gather in a sacred circle of sisters, to nourish their souls and start relating to their essence. You will immerse in the loving community of conscious women, to find that deeper connection to your joy, wisdom and radiance. Kundalini yoga and its women teachings form the point of departure to discover your true identity as women, so that you can walk your path with confidence, trust, vitality and clarity and support the people around you in these challenging times.
Your time together at this retreat begins Friday, August 10, at 6 p.m. with a welcome dinner and campfire. From Saturday, August 11, you will have daily yoga activities from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., followed by evening meditations or Closing the Bones rituals, from around 8 p.m. to 10 p.m.
After this week, as you go back to your daily lives, you will be clearer, stronger and more successful in every aspect of your life. You will have started a new phase in your individual paths to awareness.
As always, your host Japjeet will carry and inspire you by her unique combination of inner strength and gentleness, humor, presence, and the way she lives according to the teachings of Sikh dharma - the path of righteous living as warrior-saint.
This retreat will take place in Pellenberg, Belgium. Pellenberg is a small town located in the most western part of the municipality of Lubbeek, in the Belgian province of Flemish Brabant.
During this retreat, every day, you will be served all vegetarian and mostly vegan, organic, and gluten-free meals made with fresh ingredients. You will also be served tea and snacks such as fruit, nuts, and homemade cakes. Prabhu Anand, the host of the Villa Varia, is a professional cook.
You can schedule a Closing the Bones ceremony for one of the evenings. The Closing the Bones ceremony, also known as Rebozo massage, is a deeply nurturing treatment that focuses on the abdomen and hips. Closing the Bones is traditionally done during the postpartum period to support women who have recently gone through the extremely opening experience of pregnancy, labor and childbirth (during which a woman allows another soul to take birth through her).
It helps a woman to find her own self and center again, and allows her to be sealed back into herself. Although ideally done in the ‘4th trimester’ (in the first hours to first weeks/months after giving birth), this sealing or closing can still be done decades after having given birth with the same extraordinarily transformational effects.
Moreover, the Rebozo massage is also particularly healing after the loss of a baby, a miscarriage, stillbirth or abortion, and/or to support women who suffer from anxiety, shock, trauma, or who feel overwhelmed or over-stimulated.
The massage also helps to mark major times of transition in a woman’s life (irrespective of whether she has given birth or not), such as young girls starting their period - most women indicate to feel tremendous relief from period pains when receiving the massage on the first few days of their menstruation , marriage, divorce or the end of a relationship, moving home, transitioning between jobs, around the menopause, etc.
The best and most lasting effects are gained by repeating the closing massage at least three to six times, but one-off sessions are also done.
