SWAN Yoga Goa offers basic and standard eco-friendly cottage accommodations. There are three different types of accommodation with the option of twin beds available only for budget and regular cottages, while the option of a large bed (as well as twin beds) is available for the deluxe category.

During the two week yoga course, the participants are introduced to yoga asana, pranayama, mudras, meditation, deep relaxation techniques like yoga Nidra and DRT, yogic detox practices like jala neti (nasal passage cleaning), vaman dhauti (stomach and oesophagus passage cleaning), laghooshankhaprakshalana (intestine cleaning), and to trataka (constant gazing on a candle flame).

These practices come from the classical Hatha yoga tradition, thus the atmosphere is dogma-free yet rooted-in-tradition and the age-old traditional methods of teachings are used. Knowing and learning about the yoga philosophy is also an integral part of this two-week yoga holiday retreat, as it is important to know why yoga should be practiced.

Also, it is important to know that there is so much more to yoga than just the practice of asana (the physical postures). In a nutshell, SWAN Yoga Retreat in Goa aims to teach “Yoga, as it is”.

You are welcome to join the two-week retreat any day as per your convenience. However, Friday is weekly holiday at Swan and you are recommended to arrive on that day, if possible.

    Yoga became a life-understating tool for Shivendra. The leaning about life and sharing the experience with like minded people is still on for him for the past 12 years.     Dayamurti is the guiding force behind the asana and pranayama part of classical Hatha yoga being taught at SWAN. She is a disciple of Swami Niranajanananda Saraswati of Bihar School of Yoga. She is very dedicated towards her teaching and her simplicity and spiritual living is quite enriching for the guest staying at Swan.

    At SWAN Yoga Retreat Goa, Omtirth is responsible for the Tantric and Vedic rituals conducted here on a regular basis besides teaching and conducting the special yoga retreats organised from time to time. His simple yet very passionate way of talking is loved by one and all. A lot can be said about him, but to make it short: he is OM.

    Dimple firmly believes that the body is the best teacher and always let the breath lead the movement. Dimple found yoga at a difficult time of her life and willingly or not has been having a torrid love affair with it since. “Amateur face off with Yoga” is her motto which she experienced herself a decade back.

SWAN Yoga Goa is located in an orchid land with trees of cashew, banana, papaya, coconut, mango, teak, and various other wild varieties surrounding it. The yoga center is in the village of Assagao, one of the quiet and picturesque villages of North Goa, on a hill slope.

The surroundings are forest land which attracts a lot of bird life, so the only noise you hear is the sound of birds. This is a big orchid where we try to live in harmony with the nature around us. It is away from the normal "tourist" places of Goa, i.e. the beach. Yet not so far away, the nearest beaches are just 15 minutes away by motorbike.

Daily brunches and dinners are included in the price of this retreat. The buffet-style meals come in Ayurvedic and vegetarian options.

On each Friday (no yoga session day), SWAN Yoga Retreat in Goa will organize local fun trips to different places (waterfall, dolphin viewing with visit to the beach etc. which includes lunch) at the cost of 2500 INR.

Ayurveda

They offer various therapies and treatment based on the need and after consultation from the Ayurvedic doctor at the cost of 1500 INR.

Ayurveda cooking lessons

Learn how to cook delicious and healthy Ayurvedic vegetarian food. The price is 2000 INR for two days or for a three to four hours workshop with four recipes.

Ayurveda introduction course

This is a very useful and practical course for the people who wish to learn from the ancient science of total health and who want to use this science for daily purposes.

The course lasts six days and costs 20000 INR. There will be three days of one hour and a half of theory, and three days of one hour and a half of practical learning.

You will learn about: four Vedas, four Upa-Vedas, the body element, Panch-Bhoota, Gunas-Doshas, Vata, Kapha, Pita, three energy centers, Chakra, Marma, Nadis, as well as practical aspects. The course also includes an initial and a follow-up consultation with the Ayurvedic doctor.

Arrival by airplane

To get to SWAN Yoga Goa you will need to fly into Goa Dabolim airport, which serves international charter and domestic flights. If you are booking online the airport code to Goa is GOI.

You could fly a scheduled airline to any gateway city such as Mumbai, New Delhi, or Bangalore and change to a domestic airline for the journey to Goa Dabolim, which is a 1-hour flight from Mumbai and 2.5 hours from New Delhi and Bangalore. Jet Airways and Kingfisher Airlines fly from Heathrow and have excellent connections to Goa in India.

Arrival by taxi

If you are already in Goa and making your own way here by taxi you will need to tell the driver that we are on the small road down from Mapusa at the DMC College, towards Badem. The yoga retreat is on the first right road immediately after the bus shelter, after you have turned right follow the sign "SWAN Yoga" and we are located in the end of the road, behind the Ganga Tiles Factory.

  • A reservation requires a deposit of 30% of the total price.
  • The deposit is non-refundable, if the booking is cancelled.
