My aunt and I had the most wonderfully relaxing stay at The Seventh Seal Retreat. We're both workaholics so the the time out was exactly what we needed. Amanda and Nicole have created the perfect mix of rest, relaxation, pampering, yoga, mindfulness and delicious food - all in a stunning villa. We returned home relaxed, refreshed, and on a new path to a healthier lifestyle. Looking forward to our next retreat!

Seventh Seal Retreat was a great rejuvenating end to year - a top up of energy before Christmas. We did the Eat Pray Live week, crossing over with the Journey to Wellness - enjoying the best of both options - fantastic yoga, meditation, massages and health eating. We learnt to make juices and smoothies and were given tips for a healthy approach to life.We went to some amazing restaurants and had fun shopping. The week was totally flexible, we could do as much or as little as we wanted. Lounging by the infinity pools at Villa Mannao, looking out onto the rice paddies was pure heaven.

Nicole and Amanda were absolutely fantastic hosts and looked after us like we were family. Thanks so much for an amazing week.

As a first timer to 'Retreats' I was hesitant and not sure what to expect but I was pleasantly surprised! Amanda and Nicole are a pleasure to deal with and run a fantastic retreat. There is plenty to do with meditation, yoga, personal training, bike riding, volcano hike, wellness workshops, cooking class, juicing class, massages and the list goes on. Nothing was too much to organise! The beauty is that you can do as much or as little as you like! The accommodation was beautiful, overlooking rice paddies, with two pools, open plan dining and lounge. Each individual room was lovely with a large bathroom and indoor/outdoor showers. I could go on and on, but it is best for you to experience it yourself! I would highly recommend attending The Seventh Seal Retreat. I would definitely attend another retreat in the future!!

Unexpected life experiences had left me emotionally depleted and running on empty - I knew I needed to start taking better care of me.. thus began my journey to wellness ... I had never been to a retreat before and began researching assorted retreats..however while I was initially attracted to the many pretty pictures and itinerary / it was reading so many positive reviews of the other guests who had previously attended which cinched it for me

From the moment I arrived I felt a sense of calm along with an incredible visual delight ... our opulent individual villas jutted around with 2 beautiful pools centred in the middle overlooking workers tending their 'rice fields'.

I was blown away by the delicious wholesome food, juices and smoothies - I never knew vegetarian food could look, taste and be so fulfilling! I was never ever hungry or craving .. I knew learning about ways to improve my nutrition was going to be a key factor to my journey.. I loved the workshops with Amanda. Her comprehensive nutrition knowledge and simple tips on how to incorporate changes in our daily lives was exactly what I needed..

I really enjoyed participating in the daily yoga and meditation and liked how yoga by the different instructors were varied too (change is good!) ...

I enjoyed our day trip to Ubud.. and the cocktails to Seminyak and our amazing seafood BBQ on the last night !!!

So much more I could say ... however what I felt also made the retreat as amazing were the ladies that brought us altogether - thank you to the beautiful Amanda and Nicole (thank you for the many amazing conversations had at dinner and bringing your beautiful babies in on our last day)... the incredible chefs and beautiful staff who always greeted us with a smile - and lastly my fellow guests who shared this experience with me ... feeling very blessed to have met and connected with you all.

Just got back from my second "Journey to Wellness" workshop at the Seventh Seal Retreat in Bali. It was just as enjoyable, educational and relaxing as the last time. The accommodation is lovely and overlooks the rice paddies, which is fascinating to watch the rice paddy workers. The pool is luxurious - lovely and warm ! The staff are kind and attentive and are always there with a helping hand. The food which is mostly vegetarian (at least on our journey to wellness retreat!) is absolutely delicious, plentiful and very diverse and interesting. The yoga teachers are knowledgeable and inspiring. The included massages were a very welcome luxury and we felt thoroughly spoiled. Nic the resort manager was friendly and very efficient. Amanda the owner and our nutrition advisor was as usual, interesting, thought provoking and really cared about our health and wellness. All in all a brilliant and different way to spend a few days in Bali. Thanks team, you were amazing.

I attended one of Amanda's retreats in June. I delayed reviewing it as I wanted to write something which was beautiful and profound. I gave up on that and decided on the simple truth. The retreat is what you decide to make of it and what you bring to it. It is beautiful and peaceful and, for me, the beginning of change. I enjoyed the juice and smoothie diet and the care and attention of everyone including Amanda, Kadek, Dewi, De Cip.

The most relaxing, rejuvenating, welcoming retreat. As a mother of two children, I have come to Bali to reconnect with myself and have been surrounded by beautiful, caring people who have continually looked after me. From the moment I stepped inside the Villa the tranquility and luxurious surrounding left a feeling of calm and love. Attention to detail amazing. Staff, food, workshops, yoga and other people on the retreat have made this an unforgettable experience. Amanda and her team have given me tools to start and continue my own personal Journey to wellness. Don't hesitate to and your body, mind and soul will thank you.

Just finished five days here participating in the Health Kick Start. Firstly, it was my wife's and my first time to Bali, and definitely our first, in a "health retreat". The accommodation is five star. Beautiful architecture, finishing's and rooms, nothing here can be faulted. We chose the juice cleansing and food diet, both delicious, nutritional and interesting, never letting us go hungry.

Amanda and her team are attentive, informative and go out of their way to make the stay relaxing/stress free. The local chef tells you about the food you're eating. All the sessions, yoga, mediation and gym are included, so you're never twiddling your thumbs. Even when it's time to climb the volcano!

I would absolutely recommend this place, for all. Even if like me, you're new to it all, you'll have fun!

This was my first time at a retreat and it exceeded all my expectations throughout , from the warm welcome on arrival to the farewells at the end from the owner Amanda and the staff. Everything that you need ( and more ) is available at this well designed, luxurious and relaxing villa including delicious, healthy meals and drinks. I stayed in a Pool Room which was very spacious and very comfortable with breathtaking decor.

The itinerary for each day included activities and spare time for yourself to do as you please. The activities were optional so you can really do as much or as little as you want without being made to feel guilty. The nutrition, cooking, general wellbeing and mindfulness workshop activities were very informative and interesting in a friendly and relaxed environment and the fitness and yoga sessions by Amanda Jane were very good and catered for the different levels of abilities and fitness very well.

I have certainly been inspired to make simple changes gradually to improve my health, fitness and overall mindfulness. I wholeheartedly recommend this retreat and will hopefully be going on another one here in the future !

Wow! What else can i say!

My boyfriend and i attended the journey to wellness retreat this month and had an amazing time.

It was exactly the holiday we needed and wanted.

Amazing food, great facilities and recommendations.

Yoga twice a day, morning meditation, organic clean food, pool lounging and spa treatments. The staff were fantastic and were like quiet ninjas getting everything done behind the scenes (but always available when we needed someone)

Am recommending this experience to everyone and we intend on returning again.

Thanks Amanda - your vision is truly amazing.

The Journey to Wellness retreat exceeded all my expectations. l went for the yoga and "healthy food" all inclusive package. To my pleasant surprise l was educated on so many aspects to nutrition, general well being and learnt how to meditate and introduce mindfulness into my day. The best thing is that you leave knowing that there are so many simple tasks you can introduce to your daily routine to increase your health and reduce your stress levels. Then of course we're doing all these wonderful activities in superb, beautiful surroundings. The Chef created wonderful meals, a great menu plan and juices to cleanse as well. After 6 days l left feeling amazing. My first retreat of this nature and l now consider this as an investment in myself and would definitely recommend it to anyone. Thanks Amanda & Lisa for a truly blissful, happy week!

We were lucky enough to spend 5 nights at the Seventh Seal Retreat recently, experiencing the Nourish and Nurture package. The villa is absolute luxury and the attention to detail by Amanda and her team is exceptional. We didn't want to leave! Also we were taught so much by the lovely Andrea in relation to nourishing our bodies and have taken away some amazing recipes. The group of people we got to share our week with were also a highlight of our time at Seventh Seal and I cannot recommend the retreats highly enough.

The Nourish and Nurture retreat really does live up to its name! With the right mix of relaxation, yoga, learning, day trips, and cooking, it really was what I was chasing for a bit of down time. I was pleasantly surprised how much I learnt about whole foods, thanks to Andrea from The Green Gourmet (recipes already straight into practice at home!). The important point to make about this retreat is that no sessions are compulsory and absolutely no feeling of pressure if you don't attend. Most of us skipped a session here and there and it's totally fine; each person has different interests and needs, which is totally embraced here. If you come here as a single, as a couple, or with friends and family, everyone is made to feel incredibly welcome and nurtured! The whole experience is enhanced with 5-star spacious, luxurious rooms, many little quiet time areas and an impressive pool. It is down a cul de sac so there is very little traffic and it feels like you're in a little village, with local homes not far and a number of rice paddy fields too! Depending where your room is, you may hear the roosters; take your ear plugs if you are noise sensitive, but it's not that bad at all. It feels ultra exclusive because the rooms are so limited, which is just superb, because you aren't fighting for a deck chair by the pool! So in saying this, if you want to squirrel yourself away and have quiet time with no socializing, this is not the place for you. Every meal is eaten with your small group. I wasn't sure about this at first, but quickly saw it was a lovely way to get to know like minded people (seeking nutritious cooking and a healthy lifestyle), from all backgrounds and ages. You can still have enough solo time by the pool or in the retreat lounge areas reading a book etc. It is a relatively new retreat, so they are very open to suggestions and feedback (great way to be!) so my feedback to them was to have a bowl of fruit always available, as in the early mornings, before 7:00, there are no staff and with time zone adjustment, you can wake up quite early and starving, and a tea and coffee station at the ready since you don't always want to be ringing the staff for a cup of tea. All in all, absolutely loved this retreat and would highly recommend to anyone! Thanks Amanda and the team.

From the minute we walked through the large wooden doors, we were surrounded by luxury, as well as friendly and helpful staff; nothing was too much trouble. This retreat was just lovely, from early morning yoga to wonderful cooking lessons from Andrea, excursions to see parts of Bali most tourists don't see, and of course, the overall management from Amanda and support from Made; we couldn't have wanted any more.Thank you to all at the retreat. I will certainly return.

Beautiful, spacious bedrooms with luxury bathrooms. Plenty of room to enjoy the company of family and friends in the different areas of the villa and also to have some private, quiet time if required. The perfect place to relax in luxury and then, just outside the door, the real Bali, with the rice paddy fields, markets, and everything which makes this an incredible place to holiday. All the staff are pleasant, happy, and we felt so sad leaving them after our 3-week holiday with family and friends.

Quite simply, a little bit of heaven on earth. Thank you, Amanda and everyone of your staff, for making it one of the best holidays that I have ever had!

My stay at the Seventh Seal Retreat was superb. Amanda and her team are professional all the way. The organic food was varied and delicious. The retreat program was well balanced and just what I was looking for. I enjoyed starting the day with meditation and yoga in the beautiful surroundings of the yoga room. The Villa is in a quiet location. I felt relaxed the moment I walked through the doors. The suites are beautiful and well appointed. The pool and relaxation areas offer plenty of space to enjoy quiet time in the beautiful garden surrounds. I wouldn't hesitate to return to this little piece of paradise.

The villa itself is breathtaking, with plenty of places for you to have your own time out. The activities offered are extremely beneficial and provided from very experienced teachers. They offer yoga, meditation, nutritional workshops, etc. Highly recommend if travelling alone or in a group, perfect for a girls trip away or some reflection time for yourself. The food is delicious, you will not go hungry. I'm still craving some of their dishes.

What a fantastic 5 days I have just had at Seventh Seal Retreat. The accommodation is amazing; everything is top quality and so luxurious. It made me feel like royalty. The retreat itself is so relaxing and calming. I am not used to meditation or yoga but I enjoyed both immensely and will be carrying on now that I am back home. The food is exceptional, I never thought that gluten free and dairy free could be so delicious. I never felt hungry at all. I really can't put into words how amazing this place is. I met some fantastic people, both guests and staff, and have come home with some friends I never had. I will definitely take what I have learned and incorporate as much as possible into my new healthier lifestyle. Thank you so much, Amanda, you have changed my life.

Everything about this place is amazing. The personal attention received from arrival to departure was given by Amanda, the owner, and Lisa, the wonderful yoga teacher, and all of the caring hospitable staff. I was even surprised with a homemade birthday cake to celebrate my birthday during my stay. We were delighted with our luxurious large beautifully decorated room, which overlooked the pool. The organic, delicious, and creative cuisine, another highlight of our 5-day wellness retreat. The grounds were beautifully maintained and there were lots of little hidden retreats around the complex for relaxation and solitude. The yoga teacher was excellent teaching yoga and meditation daily, except for Wednesday, which was the day trip to Ubud for sightseeing and shopping. The gym facilities were also great. The excellent massage and facial were just the icing on the cake. I left this place feeling totally relaxed and de-stressed. Seventh Seal Retreat certainly exceeded my expectations!

We had 5 days at Villa Malaathina and had the most relaxing, refreshing, and rejuvenating time at the retreat. I arrived very tired and stressed and left totally relaxed and ready to take on the busy world again. The yoga and meditation each morning was a superb way to start the day and the food at each meal never disappointed. It was fresh, tasty, and filling; you could tell such care was put into the ingredients and their preparation. The retreat was not over crowded and there was so much space for everyone. You could sit at the pool alone at times or have a massage in your room; there was never pressure to participate in the workshops if you weren't up to it at the time. I commend Amanda and her team for everything they've created, I truly hope that we will be back.

A lot of thought has obviously gone into the development of the Seventh Seal Retreat. Architecturally perfect, it has beautifully appointed sleeping, living and relaxing spaces (so many, you probably won't get to use them all) allowing an easy flow from building to building through stunningly maintained gardens and clustered around a very inviting large pool and sun deck. And, although breathtakingly beautiful and luxurious, Villa Malaathina has a calm, peaceful, tranquil ambiance. So, when you enter this magnificent villa, you know you are in for something special. I did a 5-night yoga and pamper retreat with a friend in December 2014. There were 3 other guests, making a total of 5 guests, plus the host, meditation teacher, and the hosts mom; a cozy little group of ladies. Although it was not a holiday option I would normally choose, I had a great time and would recommend it to anyone who wanted to cocoon themselves away in a quiet spot, to spend some time on themselves, to relax, to feel pampered, and to do it all in style. The staff are so good at their jobs that you do not even notice they are around until a jug of cold infused water appears beside you as you laze by the pool. Food was delicious. I think it would be a real struggle to do the juice cleanse when you see the fresh, ample and innovative meals (Indonesian fusion, maybe?). Yoga and meditation classes were well delivered, catered to all levels, and having a small group meant everyone was able to get one-on-one attention. Good balance of scheduled activities and free time (everything is optional anyway and definitely no pressure to join in if you don't want to). The pampering options were ample; I had a couple of massages and a body and face treatment. I really enjoyed being able to have a massage and then walk a few meters back to my room in a bath robe. I had a few different women doing the treatments, who I would rate as pretty good to excellent. This is definitely a place you can visit by yourself. I went with a friend but the other guests all came alone. There will be people to socialize with (if you want to) or no pressure if you want to spend time by yourself in a quiet nook. The villa is situated a good distance from the tourist hub-bub of Bali and not near a beach, which could be a downside for some. But it is easy enough to get a driver to take you out for the day and there are day trips organized as part of the itinerary. So, massages, a large comfy bed, someone cooking your meals and bringing you infused water, a little bit of movement, and a little bit of reflection, all in the lap of luxury; all make for a great package.
