This Wolves and Wilderness Experience is a weekend community camping retreat at Mission: Wolf Sanctuary in the heart of the Southern Rockies on the Autumn Equinox. At One Wild Heart, 2019, you will awaken and tend the Heart of Compassion through community living, service learning, commitment ceremony, extended nature-immersion, meditation, and facilitated contact with wolves.
At One Wild Earth Fall Meditation and Yoga Retreat, you will be camping and creating a temporary wilderness village using "leave no trace" principles. Please let Wild Heart Revival know if you can share your tent space with others. If you have any questions about camp, supplies, or wilderness living, or if you do not own a sleeping bag, sleeping pad, and / or tent and would like to rent them, please send an inquiry to Wild Heart Revival.
You shall arrive at the retreat site by 6:00 p.m. on Friday, September 21, 2018. This retreat experience concludes at 12:00 p.m. Sunday, September 23, 2018. You will remain onsite throughout the duration of the retreat.
Melissa Reed-Eckert is the organizer and co-facilitator for this event. Melissa is a fourth generation healer and transformational wilderness guide with deep and intimate ties to nature. She is the visionary for Women Rising Wild, a rewilding retreat for women and wolves, and founder of Wild Heart Revival. Her guiding and nature therapy work with clients and groups draw upon her 20 years of experience as a wildlife biologist specializing in studies of rare and endangered species.
Kelly Cooper, M.A. is a traveler, therapist, and an explorer of internal and external relationships. Kelly seeks to understand humans and nature on a deeper level. She has a Master's Degree in Clinical and Counseling Psychology and Wilderness Therapy. She teaches Journey Dance and other forms of movement expression. Kelly lived at Kripalu for three years and is a Kripalu yoga and meditation teacher. She also traveled to New Zealand where she lived outdoors for a year! Kelly is a wilderness survival skills instructor and Elemental yoga teacher.
This retreat will be held on wildlands near Mission: Wolf wolf sanctuary in southcentral Colorado, 45 miles southeast of Westcliffe. The wolf sanctuary is in the heart of the southern Rockies in the Wet Mountains.
