Award Winning Wild Thyme Eco-Retreat

You will be staying in an eco-guesthouse which is a renovated farmhouse set in a rural village in northeast Bulgaria. It was awarded the People's choice Tripadvisor award for the best guesthouse in Bulgaria in 2015 and 2016 and has been reviewed in the UK Guardian newspaper.

The guesthouse is solar powered with a stone and mud plaster interior, which provides a natural, organic feel. It sleeps up to seven people in twins, doubles, or a single room.

There is a large living room, modern kitchen, dining area, library or reading room, two bathrooms, and an outdoor odorless compost toilet. A large entertainment area, including open barn space and barbecue, is located in the garden.

Your yoga or meditation space opens onto the garden. The guesthouse has solar power and solar showers, and a wood-fired central heating system a wood-burner for colder months.

Towels are provided and you can use them at the local pool in summer. The internet connection is good and stable. Please use your own device. There is no television and indoor is non-smoking. The house has various outdoor smoking areas.

Program

The course combines OSHO meditation with Reiki training which wonderfully complements each other.

Prerequisite is Reiki level 1, 2 and masters. These may have been taken with another Reiki master. It's also recommended for participants to do a 21-day Reiki practice and cleanse to prepare for the training.

Reiki facilitator training

There comes a point for somewhere you feel you are ready to support others on their paths. In this level, you will receive training on how to pass Reiki to others, including attunements; and a comprehensive package of HTSO materials to run your own workshops (prerequisites levels 1, 2 and 3 or Masters)

OSHO meditations

The Indian mystic OSHO creates a large number of meditations to help people move deeper into meditation. It is said that the modern mind is too busy to be expected to sit quietly in meditation so he devised a number of active meditations which include a stage of the movement, including jogging, shaking, jumping or dancing, to help release blockages from the system, before sitting in silent meditation.

These meditations are powerful in helping you move and transform energy blocks. Meditations on the course may include:

  • OSHO Mandala meditation
  • OSHO Natraj meditation
  • OSHO Kundalini meditation
  • OSHO Dynamic meditation
  • OSHO Chakra breathing meditation
  • OSHO Chakra sounds meditation

Location

Wild Thyme Eco-Retreat is located in the traditional village of Palamartsa in northeast Bulgaria. A visit to the village is a step back in time, where horses and carts pass outside your window and you are woken by the sound of the village shepherd taking his flock to pasture.

The old women of the village lead a traditional lifestyle tending their gardens, processing their harvests and taking part in the lively folk traditions of the village.

The house grows its own organic vegetables and animals include goats, a pig, and chickens. Guests are welcome to help feed the animals, collect eggs or milk the goats. A horse and cart ride around the village can be organized on request.

The retreat house is surrounded by rolling hills where guests are free to wander and enjoy the open countryside. From June to August, the beautiful outdoor pool is open in the neighboring village.

The village includes a little bar, several shops and a Thai restaurant, run by a Thai resident of the village.
