I just recommend better communication with all students. Maybe update the FB page to give notice. Very minor.

Everyone was so friendly and helpful. There is a cleaning staff that works hard to keep the school clean. The good was excellent. Lots to try. Teachers were fun and clearly explained content. They truly care about our education.

My shower didn't work well and was cold. The rest of the room was great!

the teachers were the only positive to come out of it

Electricity was constantly out. I can get over that.

Didn't have water for day on end. It took a lot to get over it but I did.

Slipped and fell on stairs - no railings. After a nasty fall, I mentioned this to the staff, they laughed and blamed the language barrier as a reason for not understanding. Inexcusable.

Lack of cleanliness in kitchen got everyone got sick. Inexcusable.

    Rooms/ bathrooms were filthy. Inexcusable.

No organization for Sunday excursion. - expected, its India.

I could go on but rather not relive this experience.

The food on Christmas night was good and elaborate.

Someone came to pick me.from the bus station and also took me.to the market for shopping since it was very cold and i had to buy some.thermals. The driver and his partner were very kind , sweet and considerate.

The excursion to the Shiv temple from where you could see the himalayas was awesome.

I got there as planned on Dec 25 and my room was not ready due to plumbing issues. They transfered me to a not so good place across the street and it's only when I created disagreement at the unfairness did they transfer me to another more decent place. My room.was not ready for another two nights and by then it was too late to really change rooms so i decided to quit the retreat program and take yoga classes near by at different studios on my own. The yoga instructor assigned to the retreat was not good at all and was teaching us like we were in a teachers training programme and not a retreat. He kept repeating himself.

WPY was unable to offer me what i had enrolled for and also did not return my deposit even though it is they who breached the contract.

I felt cheated by the experience and will.not return or recommend the school.

Guruji Vishnu takes care of each person to be happy. He took me on his motorbike in the morning to participate to his pranayama classes because I told him I woild like more.

Abhishek is a great guide and wonderful being. He helped me a lot with the simcard, info about India and motorbike.

They provide awesome trips to different places.

I had a real nice yoga retreat at world peace yoga school. I will definetly come back. They made my journey in Rishikesh to be amazing. Thank you yoga teacher Kim, to Shooba, Abhisek and all the staff. Keep doing wonderful things. Hope to see you back soon.

We ve been together with my wife and both of us are very grateful to WPYS for making our week retreat unforgettable.

    1. We ve been met in airport (perfectly on time)

    2. Stay was very good, rooms are big, clean with everything you need. Spacious yoga hall with all neseccery supplies and one hall on the roof. Amazing view from the roof.

    3. Food was perfect thanks to the guys in kitchen - fresh, light but nutritious and tasty. And they always asked us for preferences.

    4. Location is very nice as well - many small shops, place to it and enjoy Rishikesh. Beatles ashram 2.5km walking diatance.

    5. And of course teachers are professionals with a lot of knowledge to share, very friendly and helpful.

That we had to leave our new family.

The teachers are very knowledgable and are open to any questions or doubts you may have. The food is always delicious and ready for you to eat and the chef is willing to better fit your needs as he is very kind.

The rooms are large with a good working fan and the option to add air conditioning. Staff is always willing to help you and answer questions and provide best experience. The views from common areas is absolutely breath taking and worth seeing. This was an amazing journey and I grew so much as a person. I came out with so much more knowledge and wisdom than expected and felt so blessed to be apart of the Work Peace Yoga School family.

The teachers are enthusiastic in teaching and demonstrate a yogi lifestyle and mindset themselves. They created a good environment which stimulates an exchange of thoughts between students. learn a lot about myself and life here.

Also, they teach much more than the official 200-hr requirement, we learn a lot about Ayurveda (i love that!), yoga therapy (which is in 300-hr), etc.

However, many students got diarrhea while staying, not sure is the maladaption to india or general food problem.

Everything. After adjusting to the chaos in the streets I got the magic of Rishikesh. The power of river Ganga, on the beaches you feel it's sound and it's energy, you understand why it's considered divine. In the evening the mountains sorround Rishikesh as if they were black clouds against the grey sky and the tows echoes all the prayers coming from the ashrams. People are awesome, not attached to money, welcoming and spiritual. Yoga teachers are amazing, very well prepared and able to help you correcting the postures in a very professional way. I'll go back.

I just had to adjust the first day to walking on Laxman Juhla bridge with scooters, monkeys, cows and people in the rush our. But it's part of the experience and I am missing it now that I had to come back!

The energy of the people you meet in a yoga retreat is absolutely beautiful, I learned a lot from all my classmates and we where constantly charing questions and very nice energy. I changed both physically and mentally, because I got way much more flexible and I started learn how to live in the present and I love it.

India is not the cleanest nor organized country but if you have good attitude you will enjoy it a looot. To be honest it all depend on you. It is n entire experience, I absolutely recomend it.

Thanks very much for this experience

I didn't like the living conditions of the staff. It is something that really need to change. They should be pay way much better (according to the price we pay to go there) and get rooms with less people and AC.

Los profesores son muy buenos, y es muy lindo compartir con compañeros de todo el mundo. La ubicación de la escuela es buena. Todo el personal de la escuela es muy amable en general.

When they deliver the rooms, several complain that wasn't bed linen or towels. The quarters are as pictured but no towels or sheets and not so clean. You ask them and they are very nice, but everything is very grimy and frequently used. each one has to buy a toilet paper. When you wash your clothes will take years to dry because there is not where to put clothing and is very uncomfortable to have that look in the Chamber where... with those details resolved the stay would be wonderful..

My yoga teacher training was all in all good. The holder of the place Visnu, didn't seem into anything else but his own talk about cleanliness. Few days it was terribly cold and 2/3 of us got sick. But they didn't put heaters on rooms on Visnu's command, even though reception suggested it, because of money. We were really lucky cause he was away for two weeks of the time that we were there. I wanted to write an honest review about my experience but they didn't let me. They told me I'm an evil person who just wants to harm their school. Cause it was so cold few of the students being sick and disappointed dropped out. Visnu made them feel really bad about themselves and gave ridiculously little money back to them.

Our ashtanga teacher Sanjeev was good and made us challenge ourselves. He was there for his first months. Our Hatha teacher Helen was lovely as a person but not really an inspiring yoga teacher. Neither of the teachers really aligned with us, which was a shame. Our yoga therapy teacher was really good and enthusiastic. Our yoga anatomy was touch by our hatha yoga teacher and from those classes I didn't really get anything out of. Yoga philosophy was good. And our pranayama and (in Visnu absense) meditation teacher was something exceptional. Because the presence of this Sanjeev, I hold no hurge to the place. Some things resonated with me and some things really didn't.

Have to add to the review that our Ashtanga yoga teacher Sanjeev was really attentive cause my ankle was badly sprained in the last week of being there.

But the reception, person who sang us mantras at the beginning and the end plus on kirtan and our pranayama teacher were really good and kind-hearted people, for them I would give more than five stars. I can't remember if I added already that the place changed locations since then, so maybe the temperature next January is tolerable.

This was great learning experience for me but would never go back to that school as long as Visnu is the leader of the place. Hopefully they will have more stable staff from now on cause maybe that will improve the quality. The competition in Rishikesh between yoga schools is crazy, so always wherever in the world where money made from western people and competition. It might take take nasty turns

Management Response from World Peace Yoga School:

Our building, accommodation, campus and yoga studios are new and we are the most reputed school in Rishikesh with well qualified, PHD teachers with yogic background. Vishnu ji is master, spiritual body and one of the most happiest, loving person in Rishikesh. He always inspires students to live yogic life-style but some students don't want to follow it cause they think yoga is only physical exercise. Our purpose is always to bring change in people lives, to prepare their bodies, minds for yoga and it requires sacrifice for without sacrifice there is no absolute knowledge.

    About room heaters:

It is very clear in our website as well as listings that we don't provide room heater. for the reason we teach breathing techniques in pranayama while course such us, how to heat the body, how to cool the body, how to control the mind with breathing so if some body use room heater before and after practice then it affects on body temperature and this way they can not learn or success techniques.

    About teachers:

Helen is most paid and popular, knowledgeable teacher, she has been teaching more then 3 years around the world also loved by students the most.

All over we understand people traveling long way to learn yoga from India but at same time they have to follow Indian yoga system. We can not support wrong behaviours cause it is against our whole system. our aim, our work purpose to give the whole world healthy and peaceful lifestyle.

I really love this experience. The school is serious and know what they're teaching us. Great teachers on theoretical part and on the asana part. My knowledge got organized and definitely increased. I got straight on my body and so I could improve my asanas. Staying in the school for the whole day helped to breath and learn more about mudras, pranayama, poses, cause we were hearing about them the whole day. Some rooms doesn't have balcony, but Its okay. The bed is big. And the shower is hot, even lasting for 10 minutes. We eat 3 times a day, the food is simple, but exactly what a yogi needs. We also have some trip arranged on our day off, witch are very nice. Includes temples and meditation. And we got a manual and some books to help us on our teacher training

I was among the lucky few who had the fantastic opportunity to participate in this August's 200hrs meditation teacher training at World Peace Yoga School. It was a truly transformational experience and my first step in becoming a real yogi. The teachers were incredibly supportive and knowledgeable during this journey and I learned more from them than I could express. They taught us different meditation techniques and gave us the opportunity to teach them ourselves. Daily asana and stretching practices made sure we improved our posture and were able to sit for an extended period of time. Also our philosophy and pranayama classes provided us with a deeper understanding of yogic practices and lifestyle. The staff also took us to exciting places on our days off and made sure we really enjoyed our stay in Rishikesh. I would highly recommend this teacher training to anyone interested in deepening their meditation practice or want to learn how to teach others. The location of the school is very nice, near the Ganga river and surrounded by nice little cafes and shops where you can buy everything you might need for your stay. I had a spacious room with balcony from which I could not only see the river, but also the most stunning sunsets. I will forever be grateful to Vishnu ji who opened my eyes in his magical guided meditations to other levels of consciousness and perceptions and will always be an inspiration as a teacher. I am sure I will come back soon to this very special place!
