Although Lauren is not a raw foodist, she does know some things about eating raw and her own diet includes many raw food treats. It is a part of her journey and she is happy to share the knowledge and experience gained so far with you. You are guaranteed to feel wonderful and inspired to include more raw food in your diet!

The retreat is held in Trullo Solari, a beautiful restored trullo, which has been tastefully modernized to provide comfortable and spacious living. The trullo is set in five acres of peaceful countryside, surrounded by ancient olive groves and numerous fruit trees, where you can peacefully wander or find a quiet spot to sit and relax.

There is also a beautiful private, solar-heated pool for you to use or lounge around soaking up the spring rays of sun. The bedrooms are spacious and comfortable, all with underfloor heating, when necessary, and en-suite bathrooms. The yoga and meditation space can also be heated if necessary and there is an outdoor yoga space for those warm, sunny spring afternoons.

You will arrive on Thursday to have dinner at 18:00. On Friday, you will have a yoga class, followed by breakfast and an optional enema. Afterwards, you will have some free time and lunch, before heading to a workshop, evening yoga, and dinner. The day will end with a film or meditation.

On Saturday, there will be yoga and breakfast in the morning, as well as an optional outing. Later, you will have lunch and some time for yourself. The day will end again with yoga, dinner, and a film or meditation. On Sunday, you will have the same activities like on Friday.

Finally, on Monday, you will have breakfast before departing. During the retreat, you will do four hours of yoga a day, including meditation, as well as experience five days of eating three delicious, gourmet, raw, vegan, and inspiring meals each day, expertly prepared by your host, Cathy.

Your body will take a well-deserved break from all the possibly energy zapping food items you put into it, such as sugar, meat, dairy, wheat, processed foods, caffeine, and alcohol, as you shower it with an abundance of deliciously healthy, raw, vegan treats.

Your body, mind, and spirit will receive a boost of energy and vitality. The inspiring talks on healthy living will leave you hooked on this lifestyle, which you will hopefully carry on with when returning home. There will also be time to just sit back and relax.

    It is Lauren's hope that, in a retreat setting, through the practices of yoga and meditation and through the process of detoxification, others may feel a deep sense of belonging and enter a space of wholeness. Prior to her entry into the world of yoga, therapies, and detox, Lauren worked in the fields of psychology and education for special needs. She is an on-going student of nutrition, yoga, Ayurveda, and in the spiritual tradition of Advaita Vedanta (non-dual yoga philosophy), as well as in the Buddhist meditation technique of Vipassana.

Located in the heel of Italy, Puglia has miles of coastline along the Adriatic and Ionian Seas, both an easy drive away. The region is covered in olive groves and vineyards, so the countryside is always green and food features delicious seafood, fantastic pasta, and wonderful pizzas, all washed down with great local wines.

During the detox and yoga retreat, there will be no caffeine, meat, dairy, alcohol, processed foods, or cooked foods. Your body will have a chance to have a rest from these energy zapping foods. That way, it will be nurtured and energized by the foods served. You will be eating three daily meals rich in life-giving energy and which are both nutritional and full of health and healing qualities.

    "I have just returned from a week in Turkey with Lauren at Yoga Detox Retreats. It was the first time I had done a detox or been on a yoga retreat. It was absolutely excellent. Lauren was the most amazing person. She was an excellent yoga instructor making the classes interesting at all levels and helped me understand the art of meditation and she was incredibly knowledgeable on the detoxing, which was tough but did not seem too difficult at all. She was well informed on nutrition and cleansing and guided us all through the process, highs and lows. It was easy. I have come home feeling energized, happy, and keen to stick to my new regime of regular yoga and eating healthily. I feel very positive. There were lovely guests also at the retreat. I went on my own but felt I had gone with a bunch of old mates! I loved every aspect of Lauren's week at Spectrum, in Turkey. I know I will return to another retreat run by Lauren again, wherever it might be."
