Laurent Roure

Yoga Alliance RYT 500 (Yoga)

Laurent is an RYT 500-hour registered teacher with Yoga Alliance UK. Since 2010, he has been teaching classes and workshops in studios, schools, and on retreats and has cultivated a welcoming and joyful approach to the art of teaching yoga mindfully. His teaching style is based on over fifteen years’ practice in a variety of styles of yoga. He termed his classes “mindful yoga” where meditation and yoga Nidra, pranayama or breathing techniques, and, of course, postures and movements are practiced and taught with simplicity and great awareness.

I have just finished the intentional breath meditation, which I carried on for 35min and took me on a truly extra bodily experience. You are a continuous source of inspiration, and in the last 4 years you have helped me to awaken in so many ways with all the mindfulness tips that your classes are full of and that inevitably I take home with me and trickle through many moments of my days. I am not sure where I am heading to but I am glad I embarked on this yoga and spiritual journey as its making me very happy. A big fat thank you! See you in class.

After two more days of travel, but this time with lots of meetings and no yoga, I am able to find time to say thank you for your teaching and support on our wonderful Slovenian extravaganza. So much more than ‘just’ a yoga retreat! I have returned with a new focus for my time on the mat, have developed mindfulness skills that I can put into action off the mat and have lots of wonderful memories with you, the Klavže crew and the yoga gang to keep me sane over the coming months. I look forward to our paths crossing again soon.

Although I was a beginner I never felt lost and there were modified poses for me when I needed them. Thanks again and regards, Alex.

Firstly I wish to tell you that I loved your workshop. It was very peaceful and we all felt warm & welcomed. I found everything very helpful & learned facts I did not know. The pace suited me perfectly in my practice… and everyone else I spoke to at the workshop. Each step led into the next stage carefully & clearly. You have developed a beautiful method, you teach so clearly the understanding that relaxation is the way to maximum benefit.. is so helpful. I recommend your class to anyone that is interested as I know the benefits it gives to me. For me, it was a magical afternoon of peace & good health which I cannot wait to experience again. Thank you Laurent..you have a follower in me! Love

My feedback on the retreat in a nutshell is “mindful yoga at its very best”.

It was my first yoga retreat and I was feeling slightly nervous about my level of yoga and also the idea of spending a week in a house with a group of people I’d never been with before. After the first day both of these fears quickly vanished and I felt as a guest in a friend’s home. My most favourite moments were the morning sunshine drenched classes which felt as though they became slightly more challenging as the week progressed but even for a beginner like me they were really enjoyable and left me feeling relaxed and full of energy at the same time. Especially when followed off with a refreshing dip in the pool. I know I should think of some things that didn’t go so well, or could be improved but I honestly can’t. it was so well organised and I felt very looked after…

I regularly practise fast paced Vinyasa at home so found Hatha yoga to be the perfect change for a relaxed retreat, with Laurent paying special attention to every participant (and their respective injuries) and making us all feel very comfortable. The classes were fun and informative and despite being a regular practiser I learnt a lot about refining my poses.

I learnt lots of new things about to get into a pose and what they mean as well as learning new asanas too – I walked away from the retreat feeling enlightened and beautifully stretched.

I find you are such a spiritual teacher and pay attention to all your students in the class and give very sound advice and value each person, you have a very therapeutic voice…

I particularly liked the way he came at well known postures from a different angle It is clear from the way Laurent teaches that he has done lots of work on his own practice and explored the way his body moves from within, and hes keen to help you find your own way too. Like many Scaravelli teachers, he is more interested in finding how the body feels on the inside and moving from a very deep place, than he is in finding the perfect shape to the posture.Unlike some Scaravelli teachers, though, Laurent is not averse to a bit of flow, and a bit of dynamism, as a contrast. I particularly liked the way he came at well known postures from a different angle, which meant I was able to experience them in a different way, rather than just going through the motions as can sometimes happen with classics like Adho Mukha Savasana (downward-facing dog) or Marjarayasana (cat pose).I also liked how he integrates pranayama into the postures, rather than simply separating it out at the end. I found Laurents class to be playful and exploratory, caring but fun, intense and deep but without being serious or severe. Its a really nice combination, and at the end of our class I felt relaxed but well exercised.
