Set in 22 acres of forest and fields at the foothills of the Julian Alps in Slovenia’s Soca Valley, Klavže 28 offers lots of different gems for today’s traveler. This farmhouse offers seven double or twin rooms all with en-suite bathrooms and two family rooms with a shared bathroom. Guests benefit from spacious, unique high quality rooms with stunning mountain views and access to all in-house and onsite facilities.

The farmhouse is informal and they fully expect guests to feel comfortable helping themselves to the seasonal produce from the kitchen. Klavže 28 is your tranquil home away from home.

During this yoga holiday in Klavze28, you will learn yoga, play in the outdoors and relax in one of the most beautiful parts of the Julienne Alps which offers breath taking Alpine beauty, tranquility, fresh air, exciting outdoor activities for everyone, and amazing local food. For an extra cost, one to one classes will be available for students who prefer a more tailored practice for their personal needs and goals.

Morning mindful yoga session

We will work with traditional Hatha yoga postures and sequences to prepare you for the rest of the day. Every day classes are focused on a different part of the body. You will be able to discuss with Laurent how to improve your practice, your goals, and how to work best around any ailments or health conditions. The practice will be a mix of the gentle and the dynamic. We will explore breathing exercises and relaxation techniques, so that you will be able to practice at home yourself.

Evening mindful yoga session

After a long day of fun and activities, there will be a gentle and restorative Hatha yoga class with particular focus on gentle stretches and releasing tension from the body. Most essentially, we will be bringing lightness to the spine, focusing on our breathing, and learning to meditate away the stresses of the day.

After each class, you will practice the wonderfully beneficial yoga Nidra. It provides complete physical, mental, and emotional relaxation and is perfect for those suffering from tiredness, insomnia, anxiety, depression, or anyone who needs some blissful chill out time.

Typical schedule

  • 09.00 Dynamic flow and Hatha yoga class. Postures clinic and relaxation.
  • 10.30 Breakfast and a chat around a big bowl of coffee and tea in the big kitchen table or outside in the field.
  • 11.30 Relax, swim or lunch, picnic or barbecue, day out sightseeing or outdoor activities, or a one to one yoga class if requested (before 18.00, need to be booked in advance).
  • 18.00 Gentle and restorative yoga class, pranayama, meditation, yoga Nidra
  • 19.00 Your time to prepare yourself and relax before dinner.
  • 20.00 Dinner, relax, enjoy the stars, dance, play games, or sleep.

The yoga holiday in Slovenia is located in Klavze, a little traditional Slovenian village in the Soca valley, situated in the western side of Slovenia, a region called Primorska.

During this retreat, you will be served with daily brunch and dinner. Tea, coffee, and fruits are available before the morning yoga class. All meals will be prepared by an in-house chef who will be cooking traditional international cuisine. They will be happy to accommodate any special dietary requests you may have. All meals are prepared with fresh and local products to ensure the highest quality.

Cycling

A perfect way to visit all the tiny little valleys in the area, you can tear around or just take your time and cruise in the middle of the beautiful greenery.

Hiking

There are many short walks around the farm. For a longer day out, you can experience the Emerald trail, the Tolmin gorges, the Energy trail, and its 14 vital energy points, the Soca trail and plenty more.

Paragliding

A few miles from the farm, we have the most popular flying area in Slovenia. In 2011, Slovenia successfully hosted to the UK Paragliding Championships.

Rafting, canyoning, and canoeing

With the most beautiful gorges, emerald torrents and rivers, this experience is unforgettable and you will want to do it again and again!

Sightseeing

This part of Slovenia is crammed with history. Being one of the oldest Slav countries of Europe, your hunger for castles, strange stories, and old traditions will be satisfied. During the first world war, the Soca region was the front line and saw years of horrors between the Austro-Hungarian and Italian armies.

After witnessing and living this awful war, Ernest Hemingway gives us a glimpse of the atmosphere in his famous novel "A farewell to arms". You will be able to visit old bunkers or the beautiful Memorial church of the Holy spirit designed by Viennese art nouveau painter, Remigius Geyling. You might choose to visit the beautiful capital, Ljubljana, or nearby vineyards.

Simply relaxing

If you just want to stay in the farmhouse, you can sunbathe sipping a glass of white Riesling, reading or doing Sudoku. You might want a dip in the river Baca below or you might want to learn how to make cheese, cook local dishes, and go to spot the local beehives. You can do whatever you like!

Like many Scaravelli teachers, he is more interested in finding how the body feels on the inside and moving from a very deep place, than he is in finding the perfect shape to the posture.Unlike some Scaravelli teachers, though, Laurent is not averse to a bit of flow, and a bit of dynamism, as a contrast. I particularly liked the way he came at well known postures from a different angle, which meant I was able to experience them in a different way, rather than just going through the motions as can sometimes happen with classics like Adho Mukha Savasana (downward-facing dog) or Marjarayasana (cat pose).I also liked how he integrates pranayama into the postures, rather than simply separating it out at the end. I found Laurents class to be playful and exploratory, caring but fun, intense and deep but without being serious or severe. Its a really nice combination, and at the end of our class I felt relaxed but well exercised."

It was my first yoga retreat and I was feeling slightly nervous about my level of yoga and also the idea of spending a week in a house with a group of people Id never been with before. After the first day both of these fears quickly vanished and I felt as a guest in a friends home.My most favourite moments were the morning sunshine drenched classes which felt as though they became slightly more challenging as the week progressed but even for a beginner like me they were really enjoyable and left me feeling relaxed and full of energy at the same time.
