During the retreat, you will be staying at the Mayacamas Ranch, Calistoga. Mayacamas Ranch provides an awe-inspiring, natural setting for group gatherings and workshops, making it an ideal place to renew, reflect, soak, and connect. Mayacamas features secluded and expansive grounds, comfortable guest rooms, distinctive cuisine, and serene hideaway.
For this retreat, you get to choose between a single room or a double room, both comes with a shared bathroom. If you prefer to have more privacy with a private bathroom, you can choose to stay in a private cottage with single or double occupancy.
One can explore freely in nature, relax, and enjoy conversations. It is also a place where people can detach temporarily from daily life and have the opportunity to deeply connect. Mayacamas Ranch has guest units and cottages situated in various buildings on the property. All beds at Mayacamas are 100% organic and features organic sheets in all units. Each unit has a temperature control system for your comfort.
Mayacamas Ranch has a salt-water swimming pool that can moisturize your skin as well as making you feel refresh. It also has hiking trails ranging from easy to intermediate which you can experience the wind through chaparral, fragrant bay and madrone forests, and a natural spring. Apart from that, you can soak in the relaxing Jacuzzi, a perfect place to start or end your day.
The expansive lawn that is surrounded by breathtaking views becomes the perfect setting for all types of ball games including baseball, football, badminton, and volleyball. In addition, horseshoes, frisbee throwing, and kite flying are favorite activities for the guests at the ranch. Mayacamas Ranch also has an onsite organic garden, full of cutting flowers, fruits, and vegetables.
All of the ingredients cooked at the ranch are sourced from the garden. The garden does not use chemical fertilizers and instead embraces the natural cycle or system that is contained in an organic garden. In addition to maintaining the organic garden, Mayacamas takes important on the permaculture system which, is the care for the earth, people and shared surplus.
Throughout the garden, you will find evidence of bio-intensive practices as shown by the use of the greenhouse, the efficient spacing of plants, companion planting, and the focus on soil building. The garden is a home to 50 raised beds for growing vegetables. It is well populated with ornamental perennial plants and fruit trees, appealing to all senses. You may also enjoy views of the garden from the sun deck of the lodge.
With autumn as a seasonal guide, the weekend is a perfect opportunity to access the inner stability and adaptability that you need to thrive during the transition. The retreat program includes daily yoga sessions with two of the favorite yoga instructors, Ai Kubo and Mark Silva. There will be an invitation for deeper personal balance, presence, and empowerment. You can feel free to participate as much or as little as you like during this retreat.
There will be sunrise meditation and pranayama, mid-morning Vinyasa flow yoga, afternoon mellow yoga, mid-day play, optional wine country excursions, biking, hiking, swimming, reading, napping, chatting, and listening to music. The program will start on Friday afternoon at 4:30 p.m. with a grounding Vinyasa flow yoga class.
The duration of the retreat will be for two days and the program will end on Sunday afternoon with lunch after a morning practice. You can take a break from the hustle and bustle of life with this retreat as it will be extremely intimate with only a small group of students.
Ai is a yoga teacher, mother of two girls, and a scientist. Now with over a decade of teaching experience, she devotes her teaching helping busy people find balance, improve wellness, and live their lives to their fullest potential. Ai is also a scientist. She received a PhD in epidemiology from Columbia University, and has about 30 scientific publications in peer-reviewed medical journals. Her research has been focused on the effects of life-style related factors such as diet on cancer.

Mark Silva is a yoga teacher and software developer. He loves to cultivate wonder in the surrounding world, pulling him into a deeper connection with consciousness. Initial experiments and forays into yoga classes, have grown into a life-long love affair with yoga practice and philosophy, and all that it can offer. Yoga and meditation practice have held a place in his heart for over 10 years. Mark’s playful classes give best results when full attention to the mind and body are given! Mark is certified E-RYT 500, and teaches regular public classes, workshops, and retreats.
